here is the latest wip of the birthday game for my bf, which ive decided to call "18" as it is his 18th birthday uwu
it is alot more concentrated and focused unlike my previous games. in the finished game, there will be three levels.
(because this is the wip, its just exported straight from klik and play. the finished version will be exported from mmf2 so all windows operating systems can run it.)
mhm so im working on possibly my biggest project yet (or at least the project with the most effort put into it)
its a little birthday game for my bf seven yea
its his birthday in 2 days or so, so yea i gotta fuckin hurry up and finish it.
i think you'll enjoy it regardless though as its pretty playable.
also ive had a thought about "what if knps source code was released"
i would try to fork it or something and make lots of little changes to it without removing or changing any of the source stuff in it
little list that ive thought up:
- add 64-bit os support
- add many many keyboard short cuts such as ctrl+z and ctrl+s
- add scrollwheel support
- possibly see if its possible to port it to other os's??????
- fix other little bugs/annoyances
as far as adding new features goes, not many would actually be added other than those three i listed there
theyre really the only ones that are needed, its otherwise pretty gosh darn perfect
also as for the sequel to house runner 2, it will be done at some point in time, im still thinking of ideas and how it plays out. the main storyline will be that after mr. pickens arrives in his house, he sees some tickets to a soccer match and he has to hurry up and get to the stadium before kick off. there will be maybe things to distract him along the way and he must be careful, quick and nimble as he moves along. i will be attempting to do original graphics (or some graphics based off other ones) for it so yea it'll take a little while longer. also; because of knp's limitations, i'll be making it in multimedia fusion 2. as for the music, if i can figure out how to create midis in fl studio or something then i'll use that. otherwise, it'll be tuneless, alot like this birthday game im making.
speaking of the birthday game yet again, the version i put up here may or may not have the celebratory thingys in im not sure it may just be the main game
or perhaps i could upload both versions? who knows.
Games as an art form should not seem so preposterous, it is only viewed so negatively for its incorporation of user participation, which admittedly immediately fucks up integrity with the automatic compensation that must take place (at least in terms of wide-audience relases) however lesser popular games will inherently contain some obvious quirk of the designer, the user instead will have to grapple with the singular/small teams issues/inadequacies instead of being comfortably carried through a la book or movie, it becomes simultaneously about experience and analysis, if not direct analysis of the programmers then that of the simulated environment they created with a pinch of willful suspension of disbelief (the ol WSD) so really in this day and age i no longer try to argue or defend video games artness because really its kind of auto-art, not something which you can just claim isn't such and it will be defamed, like it's eternally esteemed in my head so what. maybe that seems a little solipsist but you understand how it's essentially human excess just like any other art, just concerned more with creating a comprehensive controllable experience or something i dunno. you get what i'm saying. thanks
Glorious Trainwrecks hasn't been that active recently. Is this bad?
I've run into a little something I haven't seen here and potentially it could be interesting, not sure.. Apparently you can make any object into a friend, you've got the basic platformer stuff already built in how you remember it. You can make your own levels, like this one going to nowhere, Uhh, there was a crab guy in it too that talked to you but he ran into the void to the left because he was really into what was going on there, and here I've got mario just chillin with the gargoyle man, he's still shooting fireballs. If you're looking for something that's not knytt games but has a little less atmosphere a a little more Mario that is marioey then this might be your output. There's also some metroid sprites for whatever reason and it can be easily turned into someone's mashup fanfiction fantasy if one is patient enough to get the layout right, otherwise we can also wait to see what happens with the new jetpack when it comes out...
THE LINK enjoy!
September 25 is my birthday, and I thought I'd celebrate by making another hit game in the "You Have to Put the Noun in the Other Noun" series! Turns out I was an hour late with it (over here, anyway), but whatever. Comes with the source code for the original "You Have to Put the Ball in the Cup" game, which is the template for nearly all of SoftSoft's incredible games! I am going to stipulate that it is alright for non-commercial derivative use (but why would you want to sell this?!?), as long as you clearly mark that it is a fangame.
PLANNIN DAT STUFF cAN BE SOOO HARD
YOU HAVE TO PLAN IT IS DIFFICULT..
So plan that and like bring condiments.. You can't go without condiments. Sometimes the caterer bails on you or the food is late.. Sometimes your neighbors can be invertebrates... But keep it on.. You can do it. Get a manual... You don't have to read it, cuz manual reading is like manwell's tv. Just give it some time, wear a crown, and if you can't afford that wear a frown. It's the best you can do to make the stew. CHEERS
Haven't made a game in a while and im out of ideas. HALP.
