http://creatools.gameclassification.com/EN/creatools/index.html This, my friends, is a site listing damn close to every single game creation tool on any platform. It goes all the way back to the 1980s.

So this is something i made in one of my many stream-of-thought things that i occasionally have when talking to my friends. This is official House Runner canon here. It also explains a couple of the frames within the game that are kinda confusing and seemingly out of place.
featuring skype conversation things at the beginning of each line
[12:57:53] lin: see now mr. pickens has the control tower as his home
[12:58:09] lin: and for some reason he decided to put multiple locks on his door
[12:58:21] lin: and it just so happened that he put one too many on
[12:58:43] lin: and he actually fell out from his home where upon he got dragged to where you start
[12:58:49] lin: hence why all the keys are on the floor
[12:58:57] lin: and the keys have become sentient over time
[12:59:08] lin: and if they detect human life they will move away
[12:59:10] lin: however theyre fine with sinks
[12:59:26] lin: so mr. pickens dressed up as a sink in order to get all his keys back so he could get to his house again
[12:59:35] lin: AND THATS WHY YOURE A SINK COLLECTING KEYS IN THE LAST LEVEL
[13:01:01] lin: if it becomes night time then none of the keys work on his door
[13:01:17] lin: so mr. pickens would be locked out of his own house if he didnt get there before night
I was logged out earlier and noticed alot of the words were eater-of-meaning-ized.
Is this intenional?
Just in case any of my many fans want a quick look at all my K&P games at once. Each game is accompanied by a little director's commentary.
One aspect of Twine that I very much like is that the entire game is included in a single HTML file. It provides a great convenience and advantage for maintaining and archiving the game. Some Twine games include images in the text, and in most all cases there are in the form of hyperlinks to external image files, which, being separate from the game file, are vulnerable to being lost or broken.
There is a way to store image files (among other files) inside HTML using Base64 encoding, which converts binary files into streams of ASCII. Simply use an online Base64 encoder to convert your image into a Base64 data URI, and paste that wherever you would paste a URL to an image. This works not only for the HTML img tag, but also for Twine's img markup (although it probably won't be syntax-highlighted correctly in the passage editor).
Here is an example:
(If you paste the entire data URI between the braces into your browser URL bar, you can see the image.)
- Stores all the game's resources in one file.
- Images are preloaded when the game starts.
- Base64 encoding increases the size of the images by 33%.
- Doesn't work with IE versions < 9... go figure.
I'm just tinkering with different CSS transitions between pages in Twine games.
I'll edit more into here if I make any.
(The game that is being used is The Sky in the Room.)
i worked on a game with my friend mno called GUU STTOB! it's a text adventure that becomes slowly infected by a spambot. he did most of the work but i did some of the writing and a bit of the programming!
i still hate pygame but pygcurse does look fun...i might use it in a solo project some time
I kinda intended for this to be the idea pitch where we all just pick some backdrops and make them.. I change the image size to 640x480 in irfan view and it seems to work without a hitch as long as i convert it to 256 colors.. I borrowed some images from Instinct Magic Theatre to promote oldschool pre-windows movie maker awareness, as this is all we had cept for mario paint, and that's snes. Bridging the gap, if you have some good backdrops throw em here, I'd just like to see some more as the backdrops in knp are soooo great but so limited. I could only make a library by putting all the stuff i want on frame one and you can too, and I will too. Let's expand on the library. Put something in for the ug, expand the defaults as we have a lot but not enough foundations to lay those characters and games on. Remix the old ones? That's cool too. I like the originals. I'll throw more up though... But for now I gotta focus on these ugg boots.
