DESCRIPTION:<p>Inspired by <a href=\\"http\://www.glorioustrainwrecks.com/node/2221#comment-9903\\">this</a>.</p>
 
 <p>From now until the start of Pirate Kart V\, we're gonna collaborate on a single level\, and then submit it to the Kart! Some rules/guidelines\:</p>
 
 <ol class=\\"bb-list\\" style=\\"list-style-type\:circle\;\\"><li> Each participant takes turns making a section of the level</li>
 <li> Only one section per participant</li>
 <li> Make your section between ten and twenty screens long (more of a guideline really)</li>
 <li> Try not to spend more than two hours on your section</li>
 <li> Please don't edit someone else's section (unless you have a really good idea)</li>
 <li> Add a sign message to your first screen stating that you made the section</li>
 <li> First person should start the level off with the Run and Climb abilities. Feel free to introduce the other abilities but try to be gradual about it.</li>
 <li> When you've finished your section\, upload it as a packed file.</li>
 <li> Whoever is working on the next section should say so\, just so that we don't have two people trying to make section X and thus conflicting with each other.</li>
 </ol>
 
 <p>Submit WIP versions as an attachment to COMMENTS\, not as a new game. The final version will get submitted as a game entry to PKV but WIP versions as game entries will just clutter up the database.</p>

 <p>We're making loads of awesome and/or terrible games and taking them to GDC to <span style=\\"font-style\:italic\\">blow minds with them</span>! Over the weekend of February 25th-26th\, <span style=\\"font-weight\:bold\\"><span style=\\"color\:#FF0000\\">everyone is invited to make as many games as they can</span></span> and submit them <a href=\\"http\://www.glorioustrainwrecks.com/node/add/game\\">here</a>! After the event is over\, we will package the games up into a launcher like we did with previous Pirate Karts! And then this March <span style=\\"font-weight\:bold\\"><span style=\\"color\:#FF0000\\">we will be showing them off in a kiosk at the Game Developer's Conference!!!</span></span></p>
 
 <p>The kiosk will even <span style=\\"font-weight\:bold\\"><span style=\\"color\:#FF0000\\">continue to download games while on the show floor!</span></span></p>

 <p><span style=\\"font-weight\:bold\\">ANYONE</span>! <span style=\\"font-weight\:bold\\">EVERYONE</span>! If you or anyone you know makes games\, or even just has an interest in making games\, we would love to have you all participate! If you've never made a game before\, we think <a href=\\"http\://www.glorioustrainwrecks.com/wiki/Learning_KNP_FAQ\\">Klik &amp\; Play is pretty easy to learn!</a> but any tool is allowed and there are <a href=\\"http\://www.pixelprospector.com/the-big-list-of-game-making-tools/\\">lots of great ones</a> out there!</p>
 
 <p><span style=\\"font-weight\:bold\\">Q. What are the rules? What kind of games are allowed?</span></p>
 
 <p><span style=\\"font-weight\:bold\\"><span style=\\"color\:#FF0000\\">The Pirate Kode has only one firm rule\: If the rules are getting in the way of you making games\, disregard them!</span></span> To put it another way\: <span style=\\"font-weight\:bold\\"><span style=\\"color\:#FF0000\\">Cheating is encouraged.</span></span><br />
 But we have some guidelines for you if you want some direction!<br />
 <ul></li>
 <li>Try to make each game in 2 hours or less! Don't worry if you go over\, though. And feel free to prepare as much as you want ahead of time. Art\, music\, game ideas\, even code!</li></li>
 <li>Unlike the recent IGF Pirate Kart\, with this one we're looking for games made for this event specifically!</li></li>
 <li>It's a good idea to include what the controls are on the title screen! Unfortunately you can't really count on people actually reading the game description!</li></li>
 <li>It's also really nice if people can exit the games by hitting escape.</li></li>
 <li>If you don't stick to these guidelines\, that's okay! WE WANT YOU AND YOUR GAMES ANYWAY!</li><br />

DESCRIPTION:<p>The Klik of the Month Klub meets right here on this very website on the third Saturday of every month at <a href=\\"http\://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/fixedtime.html?month=3&amp\;day=17&amp\;year=2012&amp\;hour=16&amp\;min=0&amp\;sec=0&amp\;p1=234\\" class=\\"bb-url\\">4pm Pacific Time</a> (taking daylight savings into consideration) for a two hour Klik &amp\; Play Showdown. Everyone who participates gets two hours to create something from scratch in Klik &amp\; Play. Abusing the stock objects is encouraged. If you really loathe Klik &amp\; Play you can use whatever game development platform you want. Two hours is a pretty tight time limit\, though\, so choose wisely!</p>

SUMMARY:Chainwreck 2 and 1/2\: Sequelitis Spectacular!
DESCRIPTION:<p>Since the Knytt Stories collab was a success I figured we might as well go on ahead with a more general game dev-oriented chainwreck. Of course\, there's a small issue with that.</p>
 
 <p>A lot of people are now on 64-bit Windows or a different operating system altogether. Klik &amp\; Play usage has dwindled considerably in favor of other game development tools. For Pirate Kart V\, I saw a pretty good mix of tools\, including Klik &amp\; Play\, Multimedia Fusion 2\, Game Maker\, Flash\, and Unity\, just to name a few. A chainwreck where everyone uses the same tool and produces a single game will be hard to facilitate.</p>
 
 <p>Instead I'm proposing something different\: we will implement this chainwreck in the form of separate games that are sequels to one another! Yes\, that's right! Here's how it'll work\:</p>
 
 <p>- The first participant creates \\"Episode 1\\". It will establish the main character and scenario and provide the first three(?) levels. At the end there will be a cliffhanger or two for the next person to pick up on. The participant creates a standalone and submits the episode as a game.<br />
 - The second participant creates \\"Episode 2\\". It will build upon the first episode\, maybe address one of the cliffhangers presented earlier\, maybe not. More levels created\, perhaps more material for future participants to build upon. The participant creates a standalone and submits the episode as a separate game to the first one.<br />
 - The third participant picks up on this and etc. etc.</p>
 
 <p>Basically\, participants will be free to use whatever tools they want and design their own sequel however they choose - perhaps one person's section of the game is a whole new genre or minigame\, or it might just build upon the gameplay established by the previous entry. Design your entry however you like\, as long as it has some tangible connection to the previous games by scenario.</p>
