I wrote this sappy poem
— despite my loath for sappy poems and my lack of poetry-rendering
skills — right after a wonderful dream I had. Since it is
a sappy poem, it's naturally about a girl I had a crush on.
Dreaming About You
By Steven Chan
I dreamt one night, whilst
in my bed
That you were here, alone with me
I could not help, but hoped you see
I was neither glad nor full of glee
But there was nothing that I could've said.
For all these years,
to be exact two
I met your acquaintance and became your friend
One that might always lend a hand
In hopes you may like me in the end
So I never revealed that I loved you.
I could never tell you
how I felt inside
So I stood still, and murmured "hi"
But you looked me straight in the eye
Kissed me without saying why
Quite frankly, I was very surprised.
I dreamt one night, whilst
I slept.
That I was the one loved by you
My hopes for just a moment came true
We were together, just us two,
But I awoke; we weren't one yet.
