Pixelman 2

So far, there's no real objective in game. I've been focusing on getting the movement and animations working the way I'd like - something I wish I had done with Little Bill. I doubt it will ever be finished, but I'm having some fun playing with it in my free time.

Nice.
That's a good engine you've got there. I can't wait to see what you do with it. However, why can't you push the Springs if you can push the Rock? It looks like you can push it. Also, if you push a Rock so that it's behind the Spring, and then stand on the Rock, the Spring keeps animating by itself. Maybe you should stop it doing that? Maybe the Rock and the Spring could collide? Or pushing a Rock onto a Spring could launch the Rock into the air?
What are you planning to do with this engine anyway, if you don't mind me asking?
I'm just playing so far.
I'm just playing so far. :)
I had an interesting idea for a puzzle/platformer. I built a quick concept demo and the puzzle aspect worked pretty well, but there was nothing to the platform engine. I began new, starting with the platform aspect this time. Maybe if I ever get something running that I'm happy with, I'll go back and add the puzzle element back in and see how it works as a whole.
I still might post the other demo here - the puzzle bit is unique to anything I have ever seen before. I'd also like to think on it and maybe develop it into something even more complex and interesting. Who knows? Soon, I'll be back in school and won't have as much time to goof around.
Thanks for the comments. I intend to make the springs pushable. I don't know whether or not I'll go as far as make the rocks bounce on the springs. I have thought about giving the pixelman the ability to lift objects. Looking back on the Little Bill demo, I may add a balloon to help the pixelman float. I started playing with moving platforms last night - though I haven't got it working quite right yet. I don't think I'll give the character a weapon or any violent abilities; I've been impressed by recent non-violent games I've played. I'm open to suggestions for any additional touches.

I added a few new things. The pixelman can now push the trampoline as was suggested. Also, there are moving platforms. I threw some coins in to collect so that the demo is a bit less boring.
I think I'm most happy with how the pixelman is repositioned after falling to his death. Yeah, it could be tweaked, but I never thought it would be so easy to do! :D
This is gorgeous!
This is gorgeous! Everything moves very fluidly and it generally just feels great to dick around in. I'm feeling a strong Pitfall 2 influence, which I love. My only quibble is that it took me a while to figure out how to climb on the ropes.
I'd love to see your puzzle concept demo; I'm a sucker for a good puzzle platformer.
