The time is right... for making videogames! The Timezone Lottery Klik Jam happens on the first Saturday of every month, at a time chosen randomly by our top-of-the-line numerical hour-choosing machines. This month, it takes place at 4:00 am UTC. Whenever that time rolls around for you, you have two hours to make a game!

How can I possibly make a game in that short a timespan, you gasp? There are many game-making tools available, but the most ludicrous and welcoming of all is Klik & Play. If you want to give K&P a shot, we have a Learning KNP FAQ available, as well as some advice on making it work on modern machines.

Making games is its own reward, but it can be much, much more rewarding when you're doing it with friends. To get the most out of this worldwide internet game jam, come talk with everyone on IRC. It's a great way to share this awesome experience, and get quick help when things aren't going right. Our server is irc.freenode.net, and our channel is #glorioustrainwrecks.

After you've made your game, upload it here!

For more information, check out the N00B FAQ.

I'm considering doing this

I'm considering doing this Klik Jam, but I honestly kinda prefer it when more people are around to play the games you make. If I'm not entertaining people with what I make, I kinda feel like I've wasted my time.

Unrelated, but ever since my epic game for KotMK #50, I sort of realized that my Trainwrecking style has started becoming... questionably Trainwreckish. Rather, I've been putting too much effort into my Trainwrecks, and I don't really feel like I'm consistent with the front page manifesto anymore.

So I've decided to rewind back a number of years... no, not to when I joined this site, but to when I started making games in Klik I could actually save. I'm talking about the time when I purchased The Games Factory for a sweet, sweet thirty bucks and then proceeded to make tons of games. Age 10. Or 11? I totally forget. Anyway, I'm going to start making TGF Trainwrecks more in the vein of the typical Klik & Play Trainwreck you see here, except with TGF's native scrolling. And 32-bit support. Also, it works in Wine and supports copy + paste in the Event Editor. Unlike Klik & Play.

I've already made a few TGF Trainwrecks, actually, but I don't feel like I've made enough.

You better. >:( Otherwise I won't even bother with making anything.

Also, we totally need to do another 30-minute afterjam. I loved the previous one.
