Requesting Kartwork for the GDC Kart!

It's about time I made an Official Release of the GDC Pirate Kart! So if you have features you'd like it to have (which I may or may not actually implement) or cracktros, splash screens, or background music you'd like to see in it, now is the time to post them!

I feel like I had a whole

I feel like I had a whole host of ideas a few days ago, but can barely remember any of them now. I think it'd be fun if we had bios like the Pirate Kart II had, but maybe that'd be tough to do now that the event's over?

I also wonder if we might integrate Twitter functionality into the launcher but allowing the player to post to his/her own Twitter account by having the player input his/her username and password into the client, preparing tweets like the GDC launcher did.

Anyway, I'd like to contribute some splash screen art of some kind. I'll post what I come up with when I come up with it.

I'd like a button that

I'd like a button that dispenses coffee for free for long nights.

If that's too hard, I'd settle for a splash screen. ;)
Maybe the tiled image of games in the kart (http://www.flickr.com/photos/39313706@N07/6827400946/) or something similar?

What's the ETA on this?

What's the ETA on this? Because I want to finish OMGT Gaiden: But Who Was Drugs before the official post-GDC release.

I was just wondering whether

I was just wondering whether I should have a cut-off point beyond which it stops including new games.

But yeah actual deadlines... um, let's say a week from now. That gives more than enough time for people to get suggestions/kartwork in I think?

All right then. It's going

All right then. It's going to be an awful lot of work, but I think I can finish in a week.

Maybe you should set some

Maybe you should set some standards for file formats and stuff. Should splash screen images be of uniform resolution and file type and all contain certain information? What music files can the launcher play (and are you going to add a 'now playing' description if you get more music)? Or should there be an 'anything goes' mentality?

Anything goes. It shouldn't

Anything goes. It shouldn't be too tough to resize or convert things as needed, I think?

ive to admit i dont really get this yet

what exactly do you want and need? why splashscreens? what for? like at the end if you close something like the knp splashscreen? no really ive no idea whats going on. i thought the gdc kart was fine the way it was (the luncher)

only thing i would like if the screenshot would be NEXT to the game name so people could browse the games like they do on this very website instead of just reading the title. i always go by looks and not by name.

Pirate Kart II had a

Pirate Kart II had a cracktro and splash screen when opening up the launcher. I thought I'd give you guys a chance to do that kind of thing again. It's no problem if you don't!

I made a cover of the The

I made a cover of the The Girl from Ipanema in WarioWare D.I.Y., but since the quality is much lower than virt's one, I'd like for it to only be included if people submit more covers to go alongside it! Also, having only two tracks seems weirder than having one track to me, but three or more would be acceptable.

Sooooo... are you going to

Sooooo... are you going to extend that (admittedly guesstimated) deadline? I'd still like to get OMGT Gaiden done before GDC Kart's official release, but I'm pretty sure I won't make the original deadline. (Purely selfish reason, of course.)

sergiocornaga's picture

When do you think you can do

When do you think you can do it by? Maybe I could try to create another OMGT level alongside you (aiming for the same deadline) if that would encourage you?

I dunno, this Saturday

I dunno, this Saturday maybe? Racing trainwrecks sounds like a great idea though. May the best Knytter win!
