What's a good way to create a library of importing sprites that minimally requires KNP?

MMF2's gif importing is neat, but........... that's restricting use to MMF2.

Gif squares

It shouldn't be too hard for someone to write a program that extracts frames from animated gifs, and lines them up into a 1px white lined grid with a solid black background for KnP's animation import tool. Still sounds like the best bet to me.

tgf newgrounds edition does it too

I use THE GIMP... i go to the layer editor... ctrl shift c to copy what i see... paste it into irfan view... knp crashes with lots of colors so you have do decrease depth. copy it again, and paste..

If you're patient you get the hang of it real fast. I mean, you pasting a couple animated gifs in or the movie 1776?
