Yeah, I find it pretty tough

Yeah, I find it pretty tough making things on computers. I can organise my music and film folders forever, though.

I find it helps when I have broad templates to start things with. In Unity I always use the same base game (which has progressively gotten more useful) with scripts and things ready to go, and when I get bored I hunt the Internet for strange objects to import. SO basically my Unity game making process is now just plonk things in and move them about. It's more engaging for me than playing games when its all flowing well.

Maybe you need a more physical aspect to your game making--or something else that can give you a break from the boring stuff. Making drawings or models or collages or something, and make your games from (digitised versions of) those? I finding shifting and jumping between mediums really useful.

this is really what saves me sometimes. it's mostly because of that "readiness" that klik n play can be really fun and appealing for me.
