Event For Submitting Games To

Hi everybody!

You know what I miss? Klik Of The Month events, where you could make a quick trainwreck, or just submit whatever you happened to finish at the time. These events were foundational in my view of Glorious Trainwrecks as a community, because it encourages playing the games made by people who submitted it to the same event. It also creates a kind of time capsule, that brings an assortment of things made around the same time together. It helps link otherwise unconnected games which, in my experience, makes it much easier to find new games and try them out!

As such, I've decided to make a general event lasting from September to the start of December, which is when I'll expect Sekret Santa to become the main event. To be a bit more accommodating, I'm retroactively setting the start of the event to September 1st, so people who've already submitted a event-less game recently are welcome to attach it here!

To give it some optional focus, if you really want to have a connection between your game and this event, here's an idea: Make a game ABOUT an event. You know, like "the circus is in town", "soccer game at 3pm", "checkers competition". Of course, it's okay if you ignore this completely- Feel free to make whatever!!

Happy trainwrecking everybody!

A Bastard

A variant of http://www.glorioustrainwrecks.com/node/2761 . But it's more fun than that.

For two players, the winner is the one who shoots the other person first.

Twine: Improved back and forward buttons in Sugarcane

Update: this feature is now built into Twine 1.4! This behaviour is now the default and this page is no longer necessary.

This script allows Sugarcane to use HTML5 history management instead of URL hash strings to alter the browser history. This means that various non-deterministic game state changes (random numbers, player data input, state changes inside <<replace>> macros, etc.) will be properly remembered when you use the browser's Back button. This code also updates <<back>> and <<return>> and the Rewind menu.

Obsolete script removed: use Twine 1.4

Feel free to report any bugs to @webbedspace.

Untilted Game

Made for #OneGameAMonth - January 2013.

(NOTE: Temporarily hosting this on Glorious Trainwrecks until I can get a site up.)

This is a game about tilting paintballs. Match the picture on the left with the one on the right.

Notes:

This is the initial release as of 1/31/2013. The game includes only twenty levels. I may or may not add some more at a later date.

One of my testers couldn't find the key to start the game, so I'm putting it in these release notes. You need to press Enter to make your selection on the main menu.

The game should adapt correctly to any display resolution, but is optimized for 1920x1080.

LOVE (0.8) has a very annoying memory leak where every new audio source it creates causes the process to eat an additional megabyte of memory without ever giving it back. This shouldn't cause any issues for this game unless you press F2 a whole bunch...

If you ever need/want to backup or delete your save data, it is located in your user data folder, under the subfolders love/untilted-game/ . On Linux the full path is typically ~/.local/share/love/untilted-game/ . You can edit this file and cheat. Frankly I don't care. Encrypting/obfuscating save data is stupid and chances are if you wanted to have a fully solved game save you'd probably just copy your friend's save anyway.
