ATTENTION: the audio in this prototype can be loud, so I recommend turning your volume down before playing, to avoid being startled. also, the graphics may be hard on your eyes, so please quit if it's causing you any irritation.

this was an experimental prototype I made 3 years ago meant to try a few different things at once. possibly the most interesting to me, and unfortunately the biggest issue, was using a generative sound extension, by Looki, that I found on a Clickteam forum somewhere. it works great and can make some really wild audio pieces with little effort. unfortunately, it seems to *only* work in Clickteam's editor itself. the game crashes if I try to build it as an exe. so, this version of the game has pre-compiled sound effects that I think are good.

if you are interested in seeing what the generated audio can be like, and own a copy of Clickteam Fusion 2.5, check out the "dev version" folder included here!

INSTRUCTIONS:
- launch "_.exe"
- you don't have to do anything at the intro, but you could try
- once the prototype has begun, move with the arrow keys or wasd
- you can resize the window by the maximize button or dragging an edge
- finish the prototype by demonstrating mastery of language
- upon reaching a finished state, the prototype will close automatically
- you can also press Escape to quit early

A fragment for Fragment Jam 2019 (WIN PRIZES) as they say https://itch.io/jam/fragmentjam

Waft about and see some boney trees grow. There are triangular birds above and grave-like pillars that swell and shrink below. You are in a sort of box but you can go out if you want. No objectives, just a place to visit.

Originally abandoned after procjam 2015. For this "release" I stole some bits from a couple of other released projects and stuffed them in, also cleaned up a little.

Sprite Walls

InteriorDecoration.jpg

The zip file are the sprite-sheets I doodled for use in https://clyde.itch.io/sprite-walls
You can do anything you want to with them. No attribution is necessary, but it's fine if that's what you want to do. Really, I just thought it might be fun to have these sheets so you can see what the environments are made out of and identify the parts inside the whole.

I plan to doodle more sheets and make more rooms and update the game. So hopefully it will change. You may not be able to access an old room and if you tell someone that there is or is not something in the game (though you may have been corrrrect at one point) they may prove you wrong.

Geld Zero

Capture1.PNG

So uh... how do I put this.... this game is really weird. You breed/evolve instrument people and then you can make albums and get sales and stuff. This game is unfinished (just like all the other 100s of games in my "shitty games" folder) so that's why theres only three types of instrument people things. Also theres letters people send you and stuff but you can completely ignore them because they dont make any sense. The game will kinda tell you how to play at the beginning so you can just look at that.

Frequently Asked Questions that were never asked before by anyone:

Q: How do I uninstall this terrible game?
A: Go to "Add or remove programs", find "Geld Zero" in the list, and then uninstall it.

Q: This game creeps me out.
A: That's not a question but yes.

Q: How are the album sales and money calculated?
A: When you release an album you get a random amount of money between 400 and 10000. The sales are then calculated by taking the amount of money, and dividing it by 16(Cd album price) and then rounding it.

Q: What are those numbers that appear under the "release album" button when I press it?
A: Thats the countdown for when you can release another album. I think it adds up to like two minutes or something like that.

Q: Why is Katyusha being played on the piano in the background?
A: I dunno. Also you can find that exact piano cover on Sheet Music Boss' YouTube channel.

Q: What do I do with this money?
A: I was going to add a shop buuut....... eh.

Q: Are there any secrets in this game?
A: Well theres "dev mode" and I think there are a few secret letters but I honestly don't remember.

Q: How do I enable "dev mode"?
A: You can find out how to enable it somewhere on this page. Cheater.

Have fun, I guess?

Hold Up

holdup.png

made for sylvie's bedtime jam

hold up is a game heavily inspired by Matt Thorson's Hold Off Red, with the key difference that instead of mouse control, this game uses the keyboard's numpad. (sorry if you're on a laptop, i wanted to give other options but i ran out of time)

it's a little bare bones but this is a bed time jam and im ready for bed, so i figured i should wrap things up and post what i've got, but if i keep working on it i'd like to add upgrades, a "stamina" meter, enemies that do different things and a lot more polish, basically everything to bring it into line with Hold Off Red, but hopefully with a few more things to make it it's own thing.

Open boxes and run away until there's no more reason to.

There's a bunch of notes in the code. They're largely for my benefit. Feel free to ignore them.

We found a USB stick disguised as an ivory brooch among the many chests of gaudy silks, leaking perfume bottles, and taxidermied macaws that belonged to my late aunt. On the stick was this unfinished game. I managed to convince my 12 thieving uncles that there's no money in game development, so they let me keep the dump of the data while they weathered the brooch to sell as an antique. I thought you all might get a kick out of it. Every summer on Indian Lake there's a new litter of raccoon pups, and swamp stinks to high heaven.

The files were too big for the GT uploader, so here are the links:

An attempt to make a Robotron clone to familiarize myself with Game Maker and get a feel for the 2-hour-jam format. Successful in that I'm now a lot better with Game Maker and like the format.
