Dimensions of the Boxy Hop-Dog

itchthumbnail.png

A blocky creature hops around on screen, and you use the mouse to measure its various body parts (in pixels). Sometimes it's facing you, other times it's facing away, and other times it's looking to the left or right. You'll have to be patient if you want to document all of the dimensions... of the Boxy Hop-Dog.

Inspired by that classic question "The Pokédex lists the height of each Pokémon. How do they measure the Pokémon?"

The dimensions are randomized each time you play.

There are a few quirks (listed in the readme) but overall I'm very pleased with how this turned out. I was originally going to make 'better' looking art but I got so used to my placeholder art that I just ran with it. I did tweak the colors a bit to make each body part easier to tell apart for colorblind people and I hope I was successful in doing so. There is togglable text-to-speech just in case the X and Y values are too hard to read - I tried to make the color of the text easy to read against the background/Boxy Hop-Dog.

Made in Multimedia Fusion 2 with music made in Bosca Ceoil.

A cool 6 second .gif of the game is provided below

NOTE NOVEMBER 3RD 2021: I've added in a way to make the game mostly playable with just the mouse, as long as yours has a scroll wheel - you can use either the left or right mouse button to measure, clicking the middle button will bring up the entry screen and you can use the mouse wheel to scroll up or down to add/subtract values to the currently selected entry field. The latter method takes a little while longer than using the number keys but it's definitely doable.

jezzcats

Made in one day so it's kinda messy and wonky but hopefully still kinda fun?

Keep the kitties from leaving the play area by drawing lines for them to bounce off.
Clear kitties by bouncing them into other kitties! Try to get as high a score as possible~

Controls:
Left Mouse Button - click and drag to draw lines
Right Mouse Button - delete all lines on the screen

Micesweeper

micesweeper1.png

Help the tiny little mouse collect all the cheese by sweeping a safe path for them, avoiding all the traps in the way!

The game currently doesn't have a tutorial, sorry about that, so I highly recommend reading the included "how to play.txt". It contains all the controls and instructions on how to play. A tutorial might be added in a future version!

But here are the basic controls:
arrow keys - move the mouse, sweep, place flags
X or shift - toggle between placing flags or sweeping
escape - start a new level

Thank you for playing!

Paronomasia

Windows version: http://love-game.net/Paronomasia.zip

This is a Sekret Santa 2020 gift for Petra. The character in the game is designed by Petra.

Petra likes
bats
and furries
and cozy stuff
and puns.

Explore and fly around this world. The world is small yet vast. You will find various items in the world, what will they do? If it is running slowly, try the Windows version. I hope everyone has fun in this game.

Sonic's Youth: Game Design Document

Screen Shot 2020-02-27 at 3.50.51 PM.png

Game design document for a Sonic game I'd like to make.

It's a GOOGLE DOC that you can read here. It's a work in progress, I will add to it every so often (drawings, writing, maybe some audio stuff). This is not a joke like 'Sonic Dreams Collection'. "People that like Sonic are weird." Fuck you well to do popular award winning 'cool' LA assholes.

It sucks thinking about these snobby "indy elites" making fun of the thing that makes some people happy.

Why is this a train wreck or why is this on this website?
I figure if I try to make something super sincere like this it will accidentally be transcendentally bad.
Like, it's kind of uncool to be a fan of something? I guess it depends on how you look at it?
I guess some questions I will be asking myself while adding to this is, like, how reverent am I to Sonic as a "franchise".
I like Sonic, I liked him as a kid quite a bit.

Someone on the IRC for this website years ago said Sega would never hire me to direct a Sonic game. I guess, in this person's eyes, this game design document and the theoretical game is a trainwreck in terms of futility, like this is never going to happen.

I once was working at a smoothie place and my first or second day there, this guy was telling me about his Simpsons spec-script and how much he was working on it. Him telling me about this made me feel tremendously sad at the time being stuck working for very little money serving very rich people overpriced smoothies. Like, I would hope that this guy made it, I have a more positive look at these things these days. At least he wrote it, he did a bunch of comedy stuff in the city, he was trying and that's what you have to do, you can't just sit around and mope about, he was taking some sort of action even if this action to others felt futile.

So, whatever, I'm going to do this anyways.
I'll run head first into a wall hundreds of times to see if I can run through it.

Volcano Island

vi3.png

Wanted to make something smaller and more relaxed cause I usually turn up the weird/angry/in-your-face knob too much. I also wanted to experiment with multiplayer more. There's 4 girls on an island and a bunch of rooms. You can control every girl and explore the island. there's minimal interaction. I threw in some of my old music as a backdrop

Girl 1:
arrow keys: move
enter: interact

Girl 2:
WASD: move
E: interact

Girl 3:
IJKL: move
O: interact

Girl 4:
Numpad 8456: move
Numpad 9: interact

This was surprisingly stressful to make
