The Klik of the Month Klub meets right here on this very website on the third Saturday of every month at 4pm Pacific Time (taking daylight savings into consideration) for a two hour Klik & Play Showdown. Everyone who participates gets two hours to create something from scratch in Klik & Play. Abusing the stock objects is encouraged. If you really loathe Klik & Play you can use whatever game development platform you want. Two hours is a pretty tight time limit, though, so choose wisely!

Klik & Play is absolutely free to download, and learning it takes minutes, so everyone can get in on the action. Want to talk to your fellow Klikwreckers? Join us on IRC -- server irc.freenode.net, channel #glorioustrainwrecks. Join the mayhem!

After you've made your game, you should upload it here!

For more information, check out the KotM N00B FAQ.

Is the regular Klik of the Month Klub at an absurdly inconvenient time? Then try the Ladies' Auxiliary Klik of the Month Ball! (Ladies' Auxiliary Klik of the Month Ball is open to all genders and time zones.) The Ball takes place at 4PM GMT -- check that link to see what time that falls on for you.

The rules are the same: You get two hours to make a game in Klik & Play. If Klik & Play is a hindrance rather than a boon to your creativity, feel free to dump it for the game creation tool of your choice. If you're new to Klik & Play, check out our Learning KNP FAQ.

It's no fun making games by yourself in a vacuum, so make sure to stop by IRC. Our server is irc.freenode.net, and our channel is #glorioustrainwrecks.

After you've made your game, you should upload it here!

For more information, check out the N00B FAQ.

So last Themed Trainwreck Thursday was actually on the third Thursday of the month, instead of the second, like it said it was. What gives? Anyway...

This Thursday's theme is "Inspired by Pokemon." What does that mean? Well, we asked some self-proclaimed "Poke Experts" and here's what they have to say:

"Above all, Pokemon's most famous feature is different creatures that can be catch-able, trainable, and/or trade-able. They may have more-or-less distinct abilities and strengths and weaknesses that make it fairly simple to decide which distinct situations they would best be suited for. Of course, this theme can be interpreted in many ways. For example Tanaka's Friendly Adventurely abstracts the creatures into friends you must meet in order to see them and their different descriptions at a party. You can make a game based on this theme that is as abstract or not abstract, surreal or not surreal, as you like."

If you would like to participate in this month's Themed Trainwreck Thursday, grab the game-making tool of your choice and tune in from 7-9 PM EST on Thursday, May 20th! Be sure to hop on our IRC channel while the game-making is going on for more fun and good times!

Remember to submit your games HERE when you're done!

It's almost the fourth Saturday of the month, which is when we have our monthly Knytting circle. Make a Knytt Stories level in 2 hours! Alternatively, make something else in 2 hours. It's up to you, really.

Don't know what Knytt Stories is? Then download it here. You can play the tutorial and bundled level to get a feel for how Knytt Stories plays. The editor comes with the game. A good way to learn how to use it is to poke around existing levels to see how they work. This guide is also a good way to learn the basics. Don't forget to check out the Knytt Stories Recommended Reading List either!

Join us on IRC for more fun and good times. You can use the in-browser chat here, or you can point your favorite IRC client to #glorioustrainwrecks on irc.freenode.net.

Upload your level here when it's done!
