Earth Invaders is supposed to be a reverse Space Invaders where you control the aliens. But I wasn't able to implement all the features in the time limit.

As such, I'm not sure if this is an utter failure or a very glorious trainwreck indeed.

Use the space bar to stop the aliens.
Press R to reset the game.

This is my first time actually coding a game, so I thought I'd work with the simplest structure I thought possible: visual novels. In no way could I reach the 2 hour mark with absolutely no code experience for this event, so I extended it to 2 days. In that time, I learned a lot and had to figure a few things out on my own. Still, when I hit that 2 day mark, I had to put it down. The whole concept was to take a space shmup I have never played and make a back story to it (since translations were fantastically bad back then).

I logically chose the game with the giant fish and this is what came of it.

So yeah, after submitting the first game I just kept working on it through the weekend. I added a bunch of gameplay and even a little story. You need to get to the planet without running out of sheilds. If you move too much, your engines will run out of fuel, and if you fire too much, you can't defend yourself, so be careful.

Arrow keys to move, space to shoot.

Pest Control 360°

A followup to my Batari Basic game Pest Control in Space. This time there's more bees, and the action is in 360 degrees! (Oops I rhymed)

Move the mouse left and right to move your ship along the perimeter. Hold the mouse button to fire. Destroy the hive and any remaining bees to progress to the next level. Hitting a bee with your ship will kill you. As you progress, the hive becomes larger, the bees spawn more frequently, and they descend more rapidly!

Important:
Press C to insert a credit, and S to start the game.

Also, if you stay on the title you can watch a little demonstration.

Update: Made a couple fixes. Redownload if you've already downloaded.

Background: Had a weird idea in 2010 to take Mafia 2 on for the Guinness World record for most profanity in a videogame. Made a TIGSource devblog. Got some awesome art from PANPOMMA and some awesome recordings from Cellulose and AGJ. Then promptly lost interest before finishing a prototype in Flash. This is a new MMF2 prototype I hacked together tonight for Glorious Trainwrecks.

ok not actually a shooter but I'm submitting this anyway because I'm late on the ideas I was working on. It has a laser at any rate.

I made this in five minutes exclusively because I wanted to take that screenshot.

Then I went back to add an ending and it took me about half an hour because it kept crashing the game so I was forced to put it in a different frame.

anyway...

Draw on the moon with a laser.

Left click turns the laser on, right click turns it off (couldn't get it to work when mapped to the same button). Space clears your drawing.

Zip file contains a .mfa file that can only be opened with MMF2/TGF2. So don't waste your time downloading it unless you happen to have either of them installed. Sorry about that. :/ It was supposed to build a flash version of the game but that came out buggy and unplayable, so. Yeah. Wasted so much time on this... Argh.
But if at least one person plays it and enjoys it even a little, it'd be worth it.
Too frustrated/hungry/tired to write a description right now.

So, thanks to ExciteMike, it's now available in a convenient .exe format.
Yay.

Just a simple, tiny, very hard shoot em up. You control this space squid thing (that totally doesn't look like a space squid) and climb around while shooting robots and space jellyfish (definitely doesn't look like jellyfish.). There's no ending or anything, it goes on forever. Well, in theory, at least. It becomes pretty much humanly impossible at around level 20 or so.

Sound effects by Effbee. Thanks! Saved me a lot of time.
Also very briefly uses a font made by Anna Anthropy/Dessgeega.

SPACE CHASE!

Very quick game where you're being chased by kamikaze space ships. They've chased you into an Asteroid field.

Survive as long as you can by tricking the enemy ships into crashing into the Asteroids!

Controls are WSAD or ARROWS. (Up = accelerate, Down = turn tighter)

Was going to implement a timer but ran out of time!

The theme was space and I had a pretty good idea, but I spent most of the (3.5 hours) working on making it pretty and not enough time for the gameplay, which is non existant. I think I'll work on it a bit more but for now you can fly through space and it's all pretty.
