The hooded bad guy and Levar are hers too. They all appear in a comic series she maintains at: http://www.angelfire.com/comics/samiascomics/ __________ 3) WHY DID YOU DO THIS? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Just because I felt like it :) This episode was released on 24/Dec/2003, as a Christmas gift of sorts. As a matter of fact, I wanted to finish and release it much earlier, but it was utterly impossible due to classes, final exams and other stuff. __________ 4) WHAT DO PEOPLE SAY ABOUT THIS? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The following are some comments regarding this comic I received from some readers: (a.k.a. food for one's ego :) Escaflowne Adept (Joanna Nowik): "Hehe you're comics are so hilarious. Gee, I could even give ya your own section on the site! I just finished another episode, but it's not scanned in yet. It's rather... odd..." Nightbat (Juho Penttilä): "Ahaha! That was very, very hilarious." NaokoYiran: "*Looks at comics* Gak! *Dies* I won't waste my time trying to think of anything good to say, because whatever I said wouldn't be high enough." Kris Troutman: "ok those were very funny. You definitely know how to make a funny comic.. But my suggestion which I notice is.. Proportions in characters.. I know. We all have problems.. Even me. But I noticed that on Samias the head was kinda small in most scenes, and hands really huge. I know its hard, I too have the same problem but end up making the head too big or chest too big. That's the only thing I find that was wrong.. actualy, nothing is wrong in art. You can draw it however you please so maybe I am wrong.. The scenerey was very nice.. Did you draw those? If so you are great at scenery. The perspective and everything. Just maybe work on head sizing. Please don't hate me for this. I really just want to help. I like your art and I want to see you improve.. In many many ways you are way better than me. I can only draw people, maybe a few other odds and ends, but never scenery. and even in those I make mistakes.. We all make mistakes.. I hope I was of good help." José: "Don't be so apologetic, Kris... I'm sure we can take it. The word used in animation for that kind of thing is "off-model" - meaning not simply the proportions of the character, but the consistency of those proportions from panel to panel (or scene to scene), and in relation to other characters. Samias' predicament is not too noticeable, but a couple panels will show a longer neck, and a couple will show broader shoulders. That's being a bit "off-model." A comprehensive character model sheet would come in handy if it's a character that's being used a whole lot in a comic or in animation. Love the comic, BTW: the references come fast and furious." Vash (Michael E. H.): "Oh my gosh, you have no clue how suprised I was to find Cain in this comic! HILARIOUS!! The ease with which Samias took him out was pretty darn funny as well! ...A tad unrealistic considering Cain is one of the most powerful beings in the universe and is literally unable to die (even though he wants to...) But that's just not as funny, is it? (Or maybe Samias is just that good!) Your artwork is absolutely incredible! I wish I could draw comics as well as you... but the frames I make these days are so tiny (and I can't help but put a lot of detail into them) that everything looks really jumbled up and messy. Your environments are also absolutely incredible! ...Myself, I didn't notice that many sizing problems, but hey, that's just me... I'm impressed with the comic, and I really wish I could be that good... Just one thing that I noticed: Cain looked a little too muscular, he looks more like another character that is yet to be introduced. I'm not sure if this was just to be funny, but Cain's shirt is fully tucked in. (eh, oh well.) Stupendous work! Keep it up!" LizyTheLizard (Dale Michael A. Johnson): "He, he. Priceless... *Right click* *Save* First time I've been parodied." ICE: "I saw your parody comic over at her website and I thought it was funny and very cool at making it manga style. How do you make it like that? Seems like hard work. I'm going to keep a look out on future drawings/comics by you. I really enjoy your sense of humor and you are pretty good at doing parody." CtrlAltDestroy (Chris Strake): "Finally read it. Wow, that's hilarious. The 20 lives thing was good. And I was shocked how Reptarr, The gambler AND Dr. Fruitcake just sort of appeared out of nowhere. XD I also liked the Windows crash bug at the end. C:\_ " Dr Fruitcake "LOL, FireMario, I love it! Thanks for the cameo, btw! Oh, and the XiaoXiao one was hilarious too! Excellent work!!" __________ 5) WHAT ABOUT THE TECHNICAL STUFF? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Same as episode 1. However, this little beast took me a month to complete. It's certainly much more complex than the first one. As for techniques used, please refer to Samias Dragonlord Parody Special Episode 1's FAQ [End of FAQ]
