How do I download the backgrounds? [ Top of the page ] [ Show/Hide text ]
Once you click on the appropriate download icon for the background, a new window should open where the background will load. If you wish to just download the image as a .jpg file onto your computer, then right click and select "Save Picture as..." If you would like to make the image your current background, right click on it and select "Set as Wallpaper"

How do I download the games? [ Top of the page ] [ Show/Hide text ]
Simply click on the name of the game and the file should begin to download. If you are using some sort of download manager (such as Download Mage) and it does not download the file, check its settings and integration properties.

What do the system requirements mean? [ Top of the page ] [ Show/Hide text ]

The display size (ex. 640x480) is the resolution that your monitor is running at. It is recommended that you are using this resolution at the minimum. Larger display sizes are even better for the most part.
The color depth (ex. 256 color) shows the amount of colors that your display can show at a time. You do not have to be running in the same color mode shown, but it give optimal performance, and you won't see any improvements graphically.
The input devices (ex. Mouse or Keyboard) tells what devices are used to control the game.

The previews for the backgrounds don't pop-up. Why? [ Top of the page ] [ Show/Hide text ]
You browser may not support the scripting used on the page. Make sure that you are using the latest browser just in case or that JavaScript is enabled.

How do I use the themes? [ Top of the page ] [ Show/Hide text ]
First, you will need some software that can apply themes. If you have Microsoft Plus! or Windows 98 Second Edition, you should be able to install or use this feature. You should unzip the files into the \Themes\ directory of Microsoft Plus! so that all of the files are referenced correctly. Even if you don't have theme software, you can still use the files (such as the background or sounds) in the package and set them up manually.

I don't see an answer to a my question here. How can I contact you? [ Top of the page ] [ Show/Hide text ]
Check out all the ways you can contact me here in the about section. You can also ask questions on the Forum, although you may have to wait longer for a response from me, but other visitors may be able to help you.

Why do the colors look bad? [ Top of the page ] [ Show/Hide text ]
This page is designed to work on a computer that is running on high or true color, so machines running on lower settings (i.e. 256 or 16 color) will have trouble displaying it. This is mostly because many computers today have no problem running at these higher settings. If you want to learn more about changing your display settings, look for more information in the PC Guides section.

Some of the page appears to be cut off. Why? [ Top of the page ] [ Show/Hide text ]
To view this page as I intended, it is helpful have your computer running in a resolution of 800x600 or above. This is simply because of the way that my computer is set-up and the layout of the page. If you want to learn more about changing your display settings, look for more information in the PC Guides section.

How can I get a page designed by you? [ Top of the page ] [ Show/Hide text ]
Email me and let me know what type of page you are wanting to create. Depending on whether I feel that it is a project that would be something that I would want to do or that I have the time to do, I will let you know what I think about it. If you already have an existing site, I can use the existing content to create another page, or you could simply request that I come up with some buttons are graphics for your site (assuming you like the stuff on this site). There's no cost associated with working on a web page for you, however the project is subject to my approval, based on content, concept, or anything else.

What does RTS stand for? [ Top of the page ] [ Show/Hide text ]
Real-Time Strategy. A type of game play pioneered by Westwood's Command and Conquer series, and shaped by other games and companies such as Blizzard Entertainment with Warcraft and Starcraft, or Sierra and Relic with Homeworld. RTS game play usually consists of ordering commands to units through a mouse clicks and a list of other commands that let you build units, bases, and other buildings to create other things. A technology tree allows you to develop new and improved units or structures. The real-time element of RTS makes game play fast and requires on-the-fly planning and strategy.

What does RPG stand for? [ Top of the page ] [ Show/Hide text ]
A RPG is a Role Playing Game. Strong storytelling and special character attributes are hallmarks of RPG game play. Players can choose and define their character attributes by gaining 'experience points' from defeating enemies, and can buy new equipment to improve attributes.

What does FPS stand for? [ Top of the page ] [ Show/Hide text ]
First Person Shooter. Played form the perspective of a character in the story (or lack thereof), you pick up other weapons and ammo to defend yourself against foes, testing your reflexes and aim. More advanced games of this genre also include some puzzle elements that can help balance the pace of a game. The graphics are usually very detailed and realistic to set an entire scene to navigate through. FPS also introduced death match game play, allowing friends and strangers alike to digitally slaughter each other. Some notable examples include Wolfenstein 3D (the first popular FPS), Doom, Quake, Half-Life, and Unreal Tournament.

What is WinZip? [ Top of the page ] [ Show/Hide text ]
WinZip is a Windows application that allows you to 'un-zip', or open, files that are compressed archives. They usually have the file extension on .zip or .cab, although others do exist as well. WinZip is free, and will allow you to open so of the downloadable files contained on this page. Also, newer versions of WinZip let you automatically install Windows Themes. You can download WinZip from its homepage at www.winzip.com.
