SCHOOL OF FROGS, a small game made for One Hour Game Jam #145: Frogs.
Guide your school of frogs through the cycle of life with your arrow keys/gamepad. Eat things smaller than you, avoid things larger than you (including other frogs!). More frogs increase your point multiplier. Go for a high score...!

Wow!
This is great! I love the very simple concept and I like what it slowly evolves into. I wish there was some better way to manage stuff later on, but I also like how punishingly hard it is.
Frog Controls
Thanks for the feedback. :)
I originally had it set up so one frog is moved at a time, and the player presses a button to switch to a different animal. That seemed too fiddly. I then switched to simultaneous controls with more frogs, and that was too messy. I adjusted it to three frog eggs at the start of the game, and that seemed to be a happy medium.
I'm just trying to keep it simple with these One Hour Game Jam pieces, being thoroughly-inspired by sergiocornaga's 1HGJ exhibit:

It's been a fantastic exercise in creativity and a study in project execution, so far. Glad to see that someone's enjoying them. :)
I really like this!
There's a lot of cool ideas in this. Simultaneous control, enemy-becomes-food, and non-synchronous growth, all leading to a combined score. I really like it.
Also, I think I'm going to start trying to participate in these one-hour jams!
