Holdout

So I finally gave in and spent a couple of weeks learning Unity. Somehow it clicked this time – previously I’ve never got anywhere with it at all and have given up almost immediately. I did it because I really wanted to figure out how to make something in 3D that would run in a browser and Unity seemed like the best option. There’s not a lot to it but there is a little story, some cutscenes and some collecting gameplay. I would have uploaded it here as it’s really more of a GT sort of thing but with it being a browser game I put it on itch.

I’ve had a bit of a problem with colliders. It’s possible to get stuck on the scenery sometimes when jumping. I need to figure out a proper fix for that but for now the Z key might help.

Please let me know if it doesn’t run for you. I’m still trying to figure out the technicalities of browser games.

Controls:
WASD or arrow keys to move
Space to jump
X to interact
Z + WASD if you get stuck

:-O

The fixed jumping felt a lot better than the regular jumping and was more interesting. I liked teleporting on top of the buildings and such. I wish it just allowed me to keep doing that so I could completely scale buildings rather than get stuck. I'm glad I got to the ending!

The beginning art reminds me

The beginning art reminds me a bit of LEGO island, which I like. Interesting first unity work!
