LINK II

advlink2.png

LINK II is a high fantasy themed action-adventure game based on the popular Nintendo franchise and was released in 2012 by bitbot. The game is notable for overcoming its limitations, being the largest ZZT world to date. Gameplay consists of a mixture of action, adventure and puzzle solving. Features include an inventory menu, RPG-style battles, a fishing game, a platform level, cutscenes and full musical score in PC speaker using a unique playback engine. Additionly, there are side quests and mini-games that pay homage to such classics as Adventure and Digger. LINK II is a direct sequel to Zelda II: The Adventure of Link again involving the protagonist, Link, on a quest to save Princess Zelda and recover the Triforce. As of this writing, it is the only sequel to the original, as all other games in the series are prequels, according to the official Zelda timeline.

That title screen is super

That title screen is super sexy. The little touches, even on this bare A2600 dungeon, bodes well for the full game. Very exited for the finished product.

Thanks Commodore.

Thanks Commodore.

Nothing happens when I press

Nothing happens when I press I... even ?I doesn't seem to work.

If you're using classic ZZT

If you're using classic ZZT (not Lyon) you'll actually need to hit the ? and enter in +i.

Thanks for bringing that to my attention. I should probably adjust it.

Sweet an I button

Hi yes I played it.. It blew my mind.. there was soooo much stuff. I didn't even know where to begin. It's like link has his own whole adventure and stuff.. EvilMario would be so jelliss. I mean this is great you've utilized the I button but uhh you really ought to do something for them non-lyoners ... have a Terminal Stay Resident program type I for you if for say you press f12 or something. Trivial though trivial. You just keep up to it. I think I look up to you sometimes cuz of that qbasic gorillas game.. so oldschool, yet so relevant.

Then again about the I thing they could get that themselves and utilize that since it'd be their job to make things EZ for themselves

I like elk

Wow, thank you.

I'm really glad you like it Viovis. The 'press I' message has been edited along with many bugfixes and updates... So grab yourself a copy. I'll be hanging around the channels so keep in touch.

I haven't played it, but I

I haven't played it, but I am already jelly. Beautiful title screen. *sniff*

TY

Your Zelda demo is a classic and one of the main ingredients in this game

It really is flattering that

It really is flattering that you took inspiration from my poor little demo. I'm always happy when I find people many years later using the little I did in the ZZT community as some sort of tool to develop their own game with. Rock on. ^_^

Salute.
