The Klik of the Month Klub meets right here on this very website on the third Saturday of every month at 4pm Pacific Time (taking daylight savings into consideration) for a two hour Klik & Play Showdown. Everyone who participates gets two hours to create something from scratch in Klik & Play. Abusing the stock objects is encouraged. If you really loathe Klik & Play you can use whatever game development platform you want. Two hours is a pretty tight time limit, though, so choose wisely!

Klik & Play is absolutely free to download, and learning it takes minutes, so everyone can get in on the action.

space bar: start to float up, or if you're already falling, flutter
arrow keys: move

it's a platformer where you have to rub your body on spikes so that you cry to hit the bats with your tears

if you get hit by too many bats then you get a game over

if you rub your body on the spikes for too long you'll go into shock which means your controls won't work for a while and the bats will probably get you

Based on an idea I had while doing something unrelated earlier today.

Arrow keys to move, Z to shoot.

I wanted to make it so my head would only appear on screen while commenting on your performance, and then have a secret boss fight if you shoot me enough, but I'm already 40 minutes over the limit and I haven't even started on that stuff yet. The floating head tracks more stats than you might think, although it only ever comments on your ratio of enemy kills. It compares how well you've done during your current life to how well you've done in the rest of the game so far, basically.

I intend to start working on another game this week. It's looking like it will be a sequel to Freestyle Box 2007 but if I change my mind it will most likely be a two player racing game like Dashin' Desperados if anyone remembers that. And you can pretty much count on it using the neo 8-bit visual style I've adopted for all my games. I'll blog it this time since I am pretty much through disguising blog posts as regular topics.
