KnP 1996 newsletter?

Hi everyone!

Does anyone who used KNP around 1996 remember there being a newsletter of some sort? It may be UK only, but I remember my mate Dan sending his games off to it so that they could get played by others or at least reviewed and promoted in the newsletter. I'm not sure if it was print or on a floppy disk or even on the burgeoning internet somehow...

I can't find anything online. If anyone had any images or anything I would be incredibly interested..!

EDIT: it may have been called the Klik N Play Klub...

rtf in mmf2

I'm having trouble figuring out how to use rtf inputs in MMF2. What I'm trying to do is pretty simple, I want the text typed into the rtf input object to be remembered and then displayed later on in a different frame. It's pretty much just a 'What is your name?' input screen to be used in an rpg. I'm going to have a lot of other similar objects where text input, selection from a drop list, etc is remembered and then displayed later on.

How do I do this?

Single executable file

Does anyone know if it's possible to compile everything from a klik n play game into one single exe file?

state.history[0].passage is null -- Help?

Hi!
So I made a stupid mistake of editing my story made in Twine 1.3.5 in the 1.4 version without saving a copy first. I've used a lot of scripts from Glorious Trainwrecks and I think some of them are in conflict with the new "back" option, because I get this message at the beginning of the story:

state.history[0].passage is null

The story runs without problems afterwards, but I'd like to fix the problem. I've googled for it, but cannot find an answer. Could anybody please help me fix it? I'd be very grateful.

I'm attaching the html of the story. If anything else would be required, please let me know.
Thnx!

Mike

custom font for Twine from FontStruct

I understand about the using of custom fonts, as explained in http://www.glorioustrainwrecks.com/node/5416
I'd like to do this, but can't figure out how to do it with a font from fontstruct.com.
If it isn't possible, any suggestions on how to get Twine to use the font from an included folder?
Or would making an exe. be the neatest way to do this?
Confuzzled,
RedR

Help Please

I want to do what was done in the "Brooklyn Trash King". There's a command that says "check the newspaper" and it opens a new window that goes to an external website so you can read a news article. How do I do this?

Sometimes I have trouble gripping things.

Sometimes I have trouble moving things with the select area tool, is there a trick?

K&P on 64 bit or Windows 7 and higher

Hey there!

I really lov K&P (we all love it), but the only problem I meet in distributing my games is lack of support for good platforms (like 64 bit and Windows 7 and higher)
I saw some people managed to deal with that.
How did you do that?

Thanks!

Kirill

Game Maker Studio Standard Edition is currently free (as of 11/25/13)

So here's the deal. If you download the free version of Game Maker RIGHT NOW, and choose to have Beta access when prompted, you'll be able to get the standard edition for free. It'll ask you what version you want to use, and you click Standard and put in your email address. They'll email you a license....yay! I'd been holding out on upgrading because I am the cheapest person alive, but I got it for free so that's nice. $50 saved.

Here's the original link with a little more detail in the directions: http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/124196

And here's where you can download game maker studio: http://www.yoyogames.com/studio/download
