Open-Source Klik & Play Runtime?

I remember Spindley reverse-engineering a portion of the Klik & Play file format a while back. I still think it'd be cool if we could write our own Klik & Play runtime, so that we could make all these wonderful KnP games run on modern operating systems, perhaps even the web.

Kind of busy with my own game engine but I still think it'd be a fun project.

Screensaver

Is there ever going to be a screensaver-only event?

That desktop grab command in Games Factory and up can make some 'destroy the desktop!' ideas work, by the way. Problem is trying to support all those resolutions out there, so maybe setting a maximum of 2560x1536 and keeping things destroyed out of the window area would work.

Game Ideas

-A parody of those CD-ROM edutainment things (E.G.: Microsoft's The Magic School Bus, Explorapeida, etc)
-A text adventure that involves eating (insert food here), and make it as long and sophisticated as possible.
-A joke Operating System filled with jabs at said operating sytem.
-A puzzle game version of Asteroids

Anything else?

Game jams you may enjoy

Make a game in zero hours! When the clock rolls back for daylight savings, you get a FREE HOUR which you can use any way you like! Use it to make a game. I probably won't, but be sure to click on the "rules" tab, it is awesome.

Fuck This Jam - make a game within a genre that you hate. Seriously considering making an old-school RPG, set in an actual old school.

Maybe others? There are basically cool internet game jams going on all the time. Post some that you're thinking of doing!

Game-O-Matic

A "Game Generation Tool" by Ian Bogost and a bunch of other academics. You define the game logic in a flow chart fashion by placing nouns and connecting them with verbs, matching nouns to clip art either provided by the site or uploaded by the developer, and letting it randomly pick win/loss conditions and core gameplay. Its creators intend it to be used by news outlets to create games based on current events, but let's be honest here. It's a trainwreck generator.

I'm releasing a new javascript library, geared at sounds for browser-based games:
http://lowlag.alienbill.com/ lowLag.js: responsive html5 audio

"a simple wrapper for low-latency, high-compatibility, html5-friendly audio"

Expect to see it in use in some trainwrecks!

Regarding 3D Game Maker

Can somebody help me get 3D Game Maker working? I really want to make a trainwreck using it but when I get to the installation screen it just hangs.
