Hello all,
I am Francois Lionet from Clickteam. You might know me indirectly, as I am, with Yves Lamoureux, the author of Klik'n Play , published by Europress software in the UK, and by Maxis in the US, in the 90s. I am also the author with Yves of The Games Factory and Multimedia Fusion.
I went to the glorious trainwrecks booth at the GDC, and liked what I saw.
OK, you are using a version of Knp that is supposed to be for schools only, but we dont mind. And it must be a pain to install on nowadays machines.
If someone from the association could contact me, that would be cool, I have some propositions to do.
Please keep up the good work, and most of all, keep having fun making games. Making games have become a serious business these last years, it is good to see people that do not take it so seriously.
Francois
I was having issues downloading the pirate kart collab project files, so I went off and started creating my own level. I was curious if I could present this or if using Knytt defeats the purpose of the Kart?
So I'm happily making a "proper" game for the kart (not a short joke/parody crap) in KnP and suddenly all my motivation gets killed.
I try to make a Cybernoid-like maze/shoot'em-up game with ship exploring a maze. The thing is, I can't make a setting which won't kill ship's movement after colliding with maze's walls. I tried different settings, as an obstacle, platform, make the ship bounce away nothing works.
I beg you, if you've got time, please take a look in the workfile and tell me what I did wrong. The ideal testing place is the first chamber.
;(
I just did Ludum Dare Mini 32 with 19 Megazeux games and 1 Sega Master System game, and am hoping to upload the games I made to Pirate Kart V. Apparently, uploading them all as 1 archive is not a good idea, so I'm trying to split them into 20.
Will I need to include MegaZeux in *every* archive that needs it?
Thanks.

i made a game called phase you can play it here
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3923260/phase.html
i made a version you can mod Creative Commons Attribution Non-Commercial license
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3923260/phase.zip
it has a couple more tiles and different rules for portals that i feel make the game more interesting
game maps are in map.png
colors are as follows
blue - obstacle
purple - can walk over, can't portal
green - flag
red - kills
dark cyan - portals won't transfer this, can walk over
cyan-blue - portals won't transfer this, obstacle
Yes! You read it right! 700 MIDI files, just 16MB, and the .rar file is just 1MB!!!!1!!111
The possibilities are COUNTLESS!!! WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? DOWNLOAD IT!!!
Also, i'm providing the original samples of the American Version of KNP that i found in some Brazillian domain. enjoy, and keep Trainwrecking!
EDIT: Yes. i know about the "51.000-in-1"
"Playfic is a community for writing, sharing, and playing interactive fiction games (aka "text adventures") entirely from your browser, using a 'natural language'-inspired language called Inform 7.
While the language can be tricky, building simple games is surprisingly easy. Cooper had never coded anything or made a game before trying Playfic, and within 30 minutes of futzing around, he'd made his first game.
Some stuff is broken and missing, but I'd love to hear what you make of it. Open to any and all feedback. Go make some games!"
I feel like this could turn out to be a valuable asset to our Trainwrecking. At the very least, it probably needs to be added to this list. What do you guys think?
So I'm lacking all the cool knp graphics like evil face, those space stations and so on. I guess they only come with the CD version of knp and not the school version I've got. Could someone please provide those libs? Thanks a lot.
Hey :)
I just made my first game. it's called gib, and it's at gib.thannymack.com
Unfortunately, I didn't realise that construct games don't really work offline. One thing I remember from playing EVERY GAME on the pirate kart is that they all worked online. Is this a requirement? Currently, I have a pop-up box stating that the game may not work properly offline, and a link leading to ib.thannymack.com. Is that acceptable? Can I submit the game to the next kart in its current form, or should I try to get to grips with titanium so I can maybe try to export it as a desktop app?
Thanks for your help!
I know that you're interested in playing games, but did you even wanted to make one? Here it goes...

I've recently stumbled upon this gem. It is great game making tool. It is also free (as in free beer) to use and very easy. Let's say that if you worked with Clickteam's TGF/MMF series or Construct, you'll quickly learn it (matter of few hours).
IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR LINUX USERS: Temporarily Linux version is broken (I've found bug preventing it from working), so you'll need to use this download link: http://www.compilgames.net/dl/gd2010543linux.tar.lzma.

Above message was posted by me on other board (except of first line and "-------" things) and because of that this post have some degree of inconsistency.
Anyway, this program is very good as it require no programming knowledge AT ALL - you can make game without coding a line! But, if you want, you can use C++ code in your project. Because of that this tool is very flexible. And you can make your game for all most used platforms (Windows, Mac and Linux). Very liberal license also allows you to sell games made with this tool without paying any royalties to CompilGames (of course it would be fair to donate them - I'll do it whenever I get paid this month and I rarely buy software/donate software projects)
