Launch Thine Baby Into Castle Yonder

baby-castle.png

LAUNCH THINE BABY INTO CASTLE YONDER, an advergame for the Glorious Trainwrecks @ Babycastles event. I hope this is useful. In HTML5, so any browser should be able to play it.

Does someone want to send the link around? How should I post this on GameJolt and other places?

I did everything in my power to ensure all assets originated with Clickteam. It's a triumph, as far as I'm concerned. IT HAS PARALLAX SCROLLING, BY JOVE!

Note: Date is corrected, and now displays 29th March as the exhibition start date.

1hgj - Anti-Typing Tutor

1hgj-failure.png

ANTI-TYPING TUTOR, made for the One Hour Game Jam. The theme this time was Failure. An HTML5 game, playable in any web browser.

Letters fall from the top of the screen. Type them. You earn one point for each correctly-typed letter.

I wanted to experiment more with the physics engine in Clickteam Fusion, and I'm happy with how this turned out. Enjoy!

1hgj - Midnight Girl

midnightgirl_001.png

MIDNIGHT GIRL, made in just over one hour for One Hour Game Jam. The theme this time round was Dreams. Converted to HTML 5, so it should play in any browser.

It's a basic shooter with a time limit, inspired by the world of the old-skool NES game "Little Nemo the Dream Master." Maybe that's why the main character is riding an alligator. Of course, had I more time, this would be much more expansive. So it goes.

Press SHIFT/JOY BUTTON 1 to shoot bolts, which destroy the Nightmare Beasts (orange guys). Sprinkle Dreamdust on the sleeping kids with CTRL/JOY BUTTON 2. Tag the windows to increase your spawn multiplier to earn more points. If you shoot a window, it will be destroyed.

All artwork and event coding hastily created by me (though I must admit I'm particularly happy with the appearance of the windows). Sounds made in BFXR. Background music from playonloop.com .

ENJOY!

Birthday Wish Generator

wish-gen.png

BIRTHDAY WISH GENERATOR, made for the Bedtime Jam. It's my birthday today so it was suggested I make a game to commemorate it in some way. This software toy is the result.

Ready to blow out the candles, but your mind goes blank when it comes to what you're gonna wish for? Let us do it for you! Click your left mouse button on the red button to generate your birthday wish. Made with HTML 5, so it should work with any current web browser.

Event coding in Clickteam Fusion by me. Audio recording and voice by me. Background music is DST-"Canopy" by No Soap Radio, found on the gamesounds.xyz website.

ENJOY YOUR WISHES!

1hgj - You're Late, Mate

1hgj-return.png

YOU'RE LATE, MATE. Created for the 147th One Hour Game Jam. The theme was "Return." Now an HTML 5 build, so it can be played on any computer.

Throw your boomerangs (you have up to 4 at a time) at the overdue library books to collect them and earn points. Boomerangs will return to you no matter where you run. The more books you hit with a single boomerang, the greater your score bonus will be.

Includes the background music from the old 8-bit NES game "Boomerang Kid," from CodeMasters.

ENJOY FAKING BEING AN AUSTRALIAN LIBRARIAN!

NOTE: I fixed the disappearing-boomerangs issue noted in the comments below. Game is now v1.1 .

1hgj - Bomb Defuser

bomb-defuser.png

Made for One Hour Game Jam #144: Time Travel. Not sure what this game has to do with the theme other than that there's an over-arching time limit to how well you can do.

Click your left mouse button on the coloured wires in the proper order to defuse the bomb, and save lives.

The first version was made in an hour with time to spare, and this revised version sports a little visual and sound fx upgrade. It's an HTML build version that plays in nearly every browser. Maybe even Netscape if you wanna test it for me. Enjoy!

Meteor Shooter

meteorshooter.png

METEOR SHOOTER, a tribute to Kitaru's CAVE SHOOTER for the No Pressure Appreciation Nicejam.

ARROW KEYS to move your ship.
SPACEBAR to activate your shield. Do not run out of energy while surrounded by meteors!
The game is over when you run out of ship energy (the green bar). You suffer damage when you impact meteors. The faster they're moving, the more damaging a hit will be.

You earn points for shooting meteors, and you earn even more points for smashing your shield into the meteors.
Event coding by let-off studios. SFX made in BFXR by let-off studios. Sprites originated with Clickteam. This is an HTML5 game, and so should be playable on nearly every computer.
