Virtual Library M31

Ever want to browse the many titles found in the Andromeda Galaxy Municipal Public Library Well now you can! Better yet, no need to wait the approximate 4.4 billion years for their galaxy to collide with the Milky Way. What a convenience!

Thanks to our partners in the Interuniversal Library Lending Network, a generous grant from the Oehler Pan-Galactic Literacy Fund Foundation, and numerous grants and gifts from numerous private donors and foundations, the new Virtual Library M31 provides you with a dynamic, user-friendly library experience. Simply log in with your account, and you're a click away from an ever-growing collection of the known knowledge and learning compiled from the farthest reaches of the universe.

But the Virtual Library isn't just an exhaustive reference tool. It's a game unlike any other! Take a break from studying and join other Virtual Browsers (VBs) and Virtual Librarians (VLs) for moderated games round the local timescale chronometer, such as:

  • The Alphabet Game! (sort a pile of books alphabetically)
  • I Spy! (a scavenger hunt for illustrations on book and magazine covers)
  • Random Acts of Kindness (tuck a "secret well-wishing note" in a book to be read by the next person who checks it out)
  • Quotable Quotes (pick an acclaimed author from our database of over 45 quadrillion, and write down the first sentence on the 13th page of their most-checked-out book)
  • Make a Zine (participate in the lost art of Zine-making and see what the ancients did with their copious spare time and limitless imaginations, posting it on our "artifact shelf" for future VBs)
  • ...and so much more!

A virtual card is free if you’re a resident, go to school, work or own property anywhere in M31. You must be 16 or over and not already have a library card. If you work or go to school in M31 please use the address of that institution when you register.

1hgj - Decisions

DECISIONS, originally made for the One Hour Game Jam. The theme was Second Chance.

Imagine if you were just released from prison. What would you do next? Click your left mouse button on the choice you select.

PLEASE NOTE: there have been reports that this doesn't work as intended with the Chrome browser. However I've tested it on two different machines using Firefox, and have had no issues. Please switch browsers if at any time it seems like the game "hangs" on a screen with no more choices.

Music is "Tell Tale" by DST, found on the gamesounds.xyz website. Minimal SFX made by me in BFXR. All event coding by me in Clickteam Fusion.

Game is now version 1.1, providing a bit more feedback and some more interesting (forced) choices.

(PS: I made this game one-armed... I had surgery on a shoulder just a few days ago and it's still in a sling. Typing takes a surprisingly long time.)

Her Universe

Happy Klickmas, mr._a ! I made a game for you. I hope you enjoy it. :)

Her Universe is a mouse-driven puzzle, where you use trial-and-error to assemble the pieces of a mixed-up story. Lots of audio recordings and a search on YouTube for strange atmospheric sounds made this one a lot of fun to make. I went out of my comfort zone for this one.

mr._a's wishlist included:

i will live forever
the universe makes sense
there is hope
i can hear a body gouging at the wall and shrieking
i hope they bring wine!

in lieu of air, a thick pudding

the comfortable warmth of pissing slowly down one trouser-leg

Some graphics and all event coding by let-off-studios. Voices by let-off-studios and DKA. Other sound effects made with bfxr.

Icons from game-icons.net:

Story content inspired entirely from the Random Creative Idea Generator:

...and from randomly-selected action words at Random Lists:

Radio noise found via YouTube:

Ambient sounds also found on YouTube (and this is fascinating):

Enjoy, and "thank you for play!"

EDIT: Made one small change, and now the game is just a bit easier to finish in one go.

WELCOME to BEAUTIFUL nan Eilean Siar!!

in this thrilling title, compatible with all current virtual reality devices, you can simulate a memorable holiday on the small Outer Hebridean island of Agad Fhèin Bàs.

(this was meant to be longer but i got really fed up with converting images for import into flickgame. i like the dithering effect you get from downscaling/importing larger pictures, it kind of creates a cohesive '''space''' from random images cherrypicked off google. i once spent a very unpleasant week in the outer hebrides, although i'd still recommend you visit - it's a nice enough place if you like bogs.)

Delegation Hybrid Layer$

Game file is 545k, Spent a good chunk of time on it. Some drawing with a mouse, some drawing with a tablet. Here's a more relevant image to the game, an alt if you will as well as the original if you must:

Do check out the Delegathls Official Accompaniment Guide if you feel a little lost or just want more extras. My imaginary crowdfunding reached the appropriate goal and these are the awards for early adopters. Also included is an official OST. I could link to those too individually but you can scroll down if you want jams and tunes made by buffoons which may or may not be appropriate with the included adventure. It is your choice how to enjoy it.

Enough with the introductions and start checking out the doors if you wish. You don't have to. Glance at the Delegathls Official Accompaniment Guide though if you've got time. I spent longer on it than the game. The glasses and vases and cat aren't me though. That's from the clipart gallery of ascii in the program jave5.

Drawn using http://asdf.us/ascii engine thing.

Yeah you, you groovy outlet you!

Let's finish this EPIC game that I started 2-3 years ago, featuring Dobuki Studio's mascot, the one and only Dobuki the nemshia!

Dobuki's Epic Journey is a point-and-click adventure best experienced on drugs.

Trying to finish this for #FinishAGameJam and WEIRD GAME MARATHON 1

Inspector Bones ALPHA

Screen Shot 2012-03-04 at 5.13.52 PM.png

Inspector Bones is a 'nu lo-fi, point and click adventure game made in Scratch, which I havnt finished. You play as the Flap Cap wearing inspector whose mother has been kidnapped in exchange for 5 bucks. you must gather this cash and you will meet many characters and do many illegal things. I hope you will find the game cheerfully depressing in some way.

you will need Scratch to play this, which is free and small to download. Click the green flag to play
also, on the map (in the drawer) dont click on the movie cinema, because I never finished coding that yet.

This was made in 2011 when I was depressed
It is inspired by the indie game Ben There Dan That
