Merry Klikmas, Stranger! I only had the past week to work on this, so I wasn't able to meet the entire prompt. What I have been able to provide is a very large monster truck and large things for it to run over, as well as some sharp things for it to avoid, and a monster truck-themed song.

Windows only. Extract the .zip, yadda yadda, game itself should be self-explanatory. Hope ya like it!

EDIT: Just replaced this with an updated version - bug fixes, difficulty tweaks (more forgiving and fair overall), and some graphical improvements (truck shaking, building variety)

EDIT 2: Updated the game again, fixed a bug and added subtitle support

Holy crap, go over 240 mph in a minivan. Race against 15 other minivans. Race against a friend in split-screen mode.
Hopefully your computer's powerful enough to run this at 30 frames per second. I wish I were joking.

Created for the Grid Grind Jam, combining the elements "van," "garden," and "Clark Stanley."

This game originally came to me in a dream - a 2.5d racing game like F-Zero or Super Mario Kart, but with minivans. "This could be hilarious," I thought. I was right. I proposed "van" as an item for the Grid Grind jam with the explicit intention of making this game a reality. I did not expect the snake oil salesman tie-in.

So, hey guys! Here is a thread which is probably overdue.

I'm SpindleyQ, also known (on other forums and often on IRC) as ApM, also known as Jeremy, and I started this here site. By day I write code for an eccentric billionaire who invented the WYSIWYG word processor and recently went into space. By night, I mostly hang out with my lovely wife (who once participated a Klik of the Month) and our 11-month-old son Eric (without whom the Fatherhood Series would not exist). I am currently secretly learning Smalltalk in the hopes of resurrecting an old Secret Project using Croquet and even more secretly considering taking up crochet.

Hello Trainwreckers.

I have just finished my second full-fat-for-real videogame. It is called "The 2030 Proto-Interfacer's Guide to House-Oriented Emotional Exploration (For Mbtzl)".

It is the 2x reanimated corpse of what I was supposed to make for 2019's Sekret Santa event for Mbtzl (who I'm not even sure if they're still around), but didn't because I foolishly joined in before I had any experience with making games. It originally was going to be an "Advanced Guard" Bomberman semi-cy-clone, with live sports commentary and deeply upsetting "RNG" influence, that was built out of another failed attempt at an RPG from earlier in 2019. It then became whatever this is, over the course of the next two years after picking it back up around October 2021.

It is strange as a gift. But this really is the same game as I was making back in '19, to me, in spirit. Its Nu-forme and Original formation co-existed in the same project file for a very very long time, and they influenced one another in many homeopathic but tangible ways. I don't know if it works as a game, I don't know if it works as a gift, I am quite anxious about the whole thing if I am to be perfectly honest, and I do not quite know how to feel about it yet. It once again isn't even really that much of a trainwreck, for its use of SCARY "POLISHES" such as MOTION TWEENS and LIGHTING. It just kinda has to be posted here because all of its origins are very strongly tied to this site. BUT! it is the thing that I happened to make in the end. And you can play it and judge for yourself... TODAY... On itch dot io (sorry lol).
