JOD: SEMY-Automatics sees Walkerton's long awaited return to the Klik & Play community, but this time with a totally rehauled game engine. How does S-A differ from previous games, and what new features can we expect?

DMW: It's been a year now, ain't it? Heh. SEMY-Automatics, unlike the other games in the "main" Walkerton series, is a 2D first-person shooter. Walkerton and Joyce must battle their way through the SEMY Complex after the base is attacked and Big Boss is taken hostage. The aliens have dispatched large robots to destroy SEMY. Walkerton and Joyce, and their respective squadrons, control big Battle Bots (tm) to counter the Head Alien's bots. Use of a mouse is mandatory. :)

JOD: This time, Walkerton is joined by new character, Joyce. What part does she play in Walkerton's world?

DMW: Joyce is the squadron leader of SEMY Squadron 135. Joyce is absolutely in love with Walkerton, but everyone knows this except for Walkerton. Walkerton likes Joyce, but can't get up the nerve to ask her out. They have a rocky friendship, mostly because of Walkerton's shyness. Joyce, blinded by her crush on Walkerton, reads all goof-ups on his part as brilliant diversions.

JOD: How representative of the final game is the copy you sent us? Are the levels featured virtually completed or is there still much to be added?

DMW: Most of the levels in the game I sent you are done. Some finishing touches here and there are needed, but that is all.

JOD: We only got to see three levels of S-A. What kind of features do you have planned for the other levels?

DMW: You'll have to wait and see, or some crud like that. :)

JOD: What kind of power-ups and extra features are going to be included in the game?

DMW: Doritos pop up occasionally to boost the player's strength. Some others may be added later.

JOD: Walkerton and newcomer Joyce feature prominently in this new game, though from the version we saw, only Walkerton was controllable. In the finished version, will Joyce also be a playable character?

DMW: Yep! Once Walkerton gets..shall we say...disposed of for a while, Joyce takes the mantle of Player One. She gets to kick some major Alien butt. :)

JOD: Will Walkerton and Joyce have different strong points and weaknesses, or will there only only be a cosmetic difference between the two?

DMW: As the only controls are firing and moving the target, there should be little to no difference between the two. Even so, Walkerton and Joyce's fighting skill are darn close anyway.

JOD: Will any of the old regulars be making an appearance?

DMW: All of the old faves like Sal and Jason reappear, but mostly in cameos as Walkerton and Joyce fight their way through the SEMY Complex. Also, other members from Joyce's squadron show up as well.

JOD: All Walkerton games in the past have featured amazing cut scenes between levels. Does SEMY Automatics carry on this tradition?

DMW: Oh yeah. And more so! Using TGF's scrolling capabilities opens up some really neato possibilities. Walkerton's world will seem to have more "depth." The cutscenes are so cool, I played with the possibilities of cuttin' out the actual levels to make space for more. ;)

JOD: What's the game's schedule? How complete is the game now and when will it be finished?

DMW: The game had BETTER be done by August 19, or when Brian Cardarella and David Jarret's game contest is over. I'm working at a feverish pace to get it done in time. Those cutscenes are murder! :)

JOD: Thanks very much for your time.

DMW: Okay. Can you untie me now?
