It's pretty normal, actually. Ebbs and flows. People get excited, hang out and make stuff for a while, and then gradually filter out. Personally, I don't really mind. I've never heard of anyone leaving because they were unhappy with the place; I think people just have other things to do sometimes. I know I've got a lot going on right now. It'll pick back up.
