Another disaster over, one more to go...

After last year's flop of a game, Sean and Scott organize a game jam with their friends to see if they can make a better Hematoclites than ever before. Unfortunately for them, there's a lot of shenanigans in store this time...

A new and improved Hematoclites, now with new palettes, special effects, more mini-games and even some special guests!

Controls: The only controls used are the [Arrow Keys / WASD], [Spacebar] and [Mouse].

Moïra

I have too much stuff on my website lilinx.com and I'll try to "migrate" some of the videogames here.

This is a game I made on the 12th of August, 2013. Here is the description I wrote then :

Disclaimer: this game is bad.

Moïra is my entry for #GPCv19 on the theme “Inheritance and perspective”.
I had to do everything in 3 days in order to meet the competition deadline, something both exciting and challenging (it was my first non-twine project). So the main challenge for me was actually to learn how to build a game in this short span of time.
The result is far from perfect.
I may do something of this prototype some day.
[edit January 2014] Apparently, nobody really played this game, because it was horribly broken. I’ve made an installer and it’s supposed to work fine now.

This isn't a game, it's a (not very) musical toy, a sort of primitive sequencer. It's controlled by clicking on old player-made Quake II models that then sort of 'vogue' to the sequence they're playing. Not really sure why I made it; I found a big zip file full of these twenty year old models a while back and I've been playing around with them in various ways. This is the first thing I've released from that process of playful gamedev doodling. I thought it might amuse some of you. It amused me to make such a thing from models repurposed from a violent game; I like to imagine the characters moving on into more creative endeavours. Also it's worth admiring the skill that went into creating these models; I picked the ones I thought had the most interesting animations.

Controls:
Left click to start or stop a sequence
Right click to change the sequence
Escape key to quit

Timezone Lottery Klik Jam #1

The time is right... for making videogames! The Timezone Lottery Klik Jam happens on the first Saturday of every month, at a time chosen randomly by our top-of-the-line numerical hour-choosing machines. This month, it takes place at 5:30 am UTC. Whenever that time rolls around for you, you have two hours to make a game!

How can I possibly make a game in that short a timespan, you gasp? There are many game-making tools available, but the most ludicrous and welcoming of all is Klik & Play. If you want to give K&P a shot, we have a Learning KNP FAQ available, as well as some advice on making it work on modern machines.

Making games is its own reward, but it can be much, much more rewarding when you're doing it with friends. To get the most out of this worldwide internet game jam, come talk with everyone on IRC. It's a great way to share this awesome experience, and get quick help when things aren't going right. Our server is irc.freenode.net, and our channel is #glorioustrainwrecks.

After you've made your game, upload it here!

For more information, check out the N00B FAQ.

Sign up below to get a reminder email the day before the jam!
