neat puzzlescript game that yall should check out (Rose)

Hey,
I'm sure at least some of you may have already seen this if you're on twitter and you follow increpare, but this is a really neat puzzlescript game by jared piers. It has some very interesting things about it, that makes it one of my favorites that i've played so far.

The Games Factory

The Games Factory was an entry in the 'Klik' series of tools in 1996, after the release of Klik & Play. Actually, Click 'n' Create was the original sequel to Klik & Play, and The Games Factory was mainly a rebranding of Click 'n' Create. It builds upon the work of Klik & Play, boasting many new features, while retaining backward compatibility (mostly).

Improvements Over Klik & Play

  • Native scrolling: simply make a level larger in size than the game window, and with a single action you can scroll to different parts of the level.
  • Preliminary full-screen support (the requirements for this are rather picky)
  • A native 32-bit version, including improvements to graphics (can use 16-million colors regardless of drivers), multi-sample playback, and the ability to include more events in a level
  • Advanced object properties, such as ink effects (including semi-transparency), options to enable/disable precise collision and automatic inactivation/destruction of objects leaving the window/playfield, and the ability to assign objects to one or more "groups" to make coding easier
  • The ability to add comments in the Event Editor
  • The ability to add groups in the Event Editor, which can organize events and enable/disable large chunks of events during runtime
  • Objects for Windows common controls such as push buttons, radio button lists, and text edit boxes, as well as playback of AVI, Quicktime, and CD audio, among other things
  • Support for extensions, which allowed for the addition of newer functionality such as MP3/module music playback, program flow, system integration, data storage, online multiplayer, and even some very basic 3D
  • A multitude of other miscellaneous new features and bugfixes

Limitations

  • While The Games Factory finally allows for native scrolling, this new feature is hindered by the fact that there is still an object limit of about 250 objects at any given time. Depending on the game being made, this sometimes meant that object placement would have to be sparse to avoid hitting the limit.
  • There is an issue with the the sound code where playing too many sounds at once and too often will eventually cause a malfunction where the game stops functioning normally, only advancing frames upon mouse and keyboard input, and causing sounds to be stuck playing in a loop. This will happen much more quickly on multi-core systems, so players will need to change the process affinity to just one core when running games made in The Games Factory. This issue was not fully resolved until Multimedia Fusion 2, which featured a complete overhaul of the sound system.

'GALACTIC WINTER GAMES'

galactic-winter-games.png

Have been itching to enter a competition lately... was on an international flight during the klik-of-the-month, so I went searching for an alternative. Drunken Coders (.com) was hosting their 2009 winter nintendo ds programming competition with a deadline of march 19th. Sounded good to me!
So in what limited time I could find to code, I threw together this little puzzle game.
It is pretty silly and was a real rushed job, so I thought I would share it here on glorious trainwrecks (though I'm not sure it's glorious enough, hee hee)

Hope you enjoy...

edit:note that this is meant to be played on a real nintendo ds or a good nds emulator (if you must)

3D trainwrecks?

Hey, just wanted to tell you guys about this program I found called 3D Rad. Judging by the tutorial, it's easy to use. Who knows, I may make something in it in the next few days...

Submit Games

Titlecard.png
Game File:

"In an alternate universe where the time limit for Klik of the Month Klub keep getting decreased after the 89th one. One guy has the brave task of submiting games right in time for the event..."

HOW TO PLAY:
You must program and submit games for the Klik of the Month Klub events, starting from the 88th one (Before the time was getting halved). You will have a certain amount of minutes to finish creating your game, (which, in your mad game design rush, i'll fell like mere seconds). When you're on the game screen, just press ANY KEY (besides enter) in your keyboard to make the game, the more complete the game feels, the more Awesome Points you will get for it. Once you're done, press ENTER to submit it to the event. Be sure to do this before the time runs out, and you will be able to participate on the next KotMK event. When you're not on the main game screen, the game will move to the next scene automatically.

I think this concept has already been made but whatever.
Also, i realized after compiling that i used "PM" on a 24 hour format. Let's just roll with it.
