Kneat Swapzeese

Complications have arose! For me. It'll take me a while to finish my half of the swapsy (or it'll just be shorter than normal) because I've barely had any time or focus to put into it. Sorry yo

The 2030 Proto-Interfacer's Guide to House-Oriented Emotional Exploration (For Mbtzl)

P9t79e.jpg

(Actual description about the game itself is located on the itch page)

Hello Trainwreckers.

I have just finished my second full-fat-for-real videogame. It is called "The 2030 Proto-Interfacer's Guide to House-Oriented Emotional Exploration (For Mbtzl)".

It is the 2x reanimated corpse of what I was supposed to make for 2019's Sekret Santa event for Mbtzl (who I'm not even sure if they're still around), but didn't because I foolishly joined in before I had any experience with making games. It originally was going to be an "Advanced Guard" Bomberman semi-cy-clone, with live sports commentary and deeply upsetting "RNG" influence, that was built out of another failed attempt at an RPG from earlier in 2019. It then became whatever this is, over the course of the next two years after picking it back up around October 2021.

It is strange as a gift. But this really is the same game as I was making back in '19, to me, in spirit. Its Nu-forme and Original formation co-existed in the same project file for a very very long time, and they influenced one another in many homeopathic but tangible ways. I don't know if it works as a game, I don't know if it works as a gift, I am quite anxious about the whole thing if I am to be perfectly honest, and I do not quite know how to feel about it yet. It once again isn't even really that much of a trainwreck, for its use of SCARY "POLISHES" such as MOTION TWEENS and LIGHTING. It just kinda has to be posted here because all of its origins are very strongly tied to this site. BUT! it is the thing that I happened to make in the end. And you can play it and judge for yourself... TODAY... On itch dot io (sorry lol).

With apologies to Frank Zappa's estate. The most special of thanks go out to Fen and Lydia for their help. AND THANKS TO YOU TOO, YOU "GLORIOUS TRAINWRECKS".

MarMOTS Vision #1 Nearly Attained!

MarMOTS is back up, and more awesome than ever.

For reference, here is my 8-part vision. The only difference between the server that is now live and Vision #1 is that the current system is still missing a chatbox. That will not be hard. I'm also hoping to get bright colours up and running soon; have to run some experiments still. Smiley face support is unfortunately absent.

The current whiteboard-specific code is about 250 lines of Python; the whole server / framework is about 1400 lines. I love you, Stackless and Twisted.

Easter in November event

Etc/GMT-7

Update: extended it to easter 2022 (I got a problem putting together my own entry,
and figured it might be ready by then)
Update update: restored old date (on second thought nevermind, this was a silly idea)

I don't know about you but I miss the old mailing system or "snail" mail as it is now called
a big thing that everyone felt they had to do was to send mail to every
known extended family member during the holidays
but this came with the obvious problem: what to write them?

Enter the solution: premade greeting cards for every holiday possible,
they usually looked pretty and all you had to do was to sign them
some modern ones even played music scaring the wits out of unsuspecting inlaws

as some time passed and computers become good enough (still in the pre-internet days) some companies even made
digital version of the greetings card complete with fancy animations, often sacrificing entire floppies for it

greeting cards are still a thing today but they lost plenty of steam compared to their early counterparts
nowadays they are pretty boring usually just some boring flowers and some comic sans mumbo jumbo.. meanwhile I yet to see an early victorian eastern greeting card that is not depicting pure chaos:

you might say this is all well and dandy but its not exactly time for easter yet!
one reason for making this event now is that I feel the weirdness of easter kind of escapes us at eastern time
and looking at it from far we might more appreciate the madness

(and also why not combine it with Halloween themes? making things even crazier )

also this is not a strictly greeting card event
anything goes: games, comics, katelabs maps, doom maps .. etc

The New Testament of the Holy Help File

Al87vIfCAAEa2Ms.png
Game File:

The New Testament (Koine Greek: Ἡ Καινὴ Διαθήκη, Hē Kainḕ Diathḗkē) is the second major division of the WindowsLovers biblical canon, the first such division being the much longer Old Testament.
Unlike the Old Testament or Hebrew Help File, of which Windows Lovers hold differente views, the contents of the New Testament deal explicitly with 1st century WindowsLoverism, although both the Old and New Testament are regarded, together, as sacred scripture.

Working on my skillz

GraceHopper.jpg

I've entered into the themed trainwreck #4 and the KOTM #63. I'm actually going to complete something this time! I'm so excited! I already have my handy programmer's notebook and I scribbled some ideas. I'm using KNP/GF again and it's tough re-learning how to use this dang thing. My sis has the original KNP manual at her house that she borrowed from me. I got to wait until she brings it back. I do have a PDF version of the manual.

I was thinking of firing up the old Mac and use KNP on there, but I can't get the internet and the version of KNP I downloaded didn't work (as it read the zip file wrong as Windows zip, not Mac Zip). I wonder if anyone uses KNP for mac?
