This is so not done that you will probably have a hard time seeing what I plan to do with it. But I have a basic form in mind that I plan to save some of my web-browsing into as I move forward.
A nature-walking simulation. Experience the wonders of a simulated outdoor environment, free of the mental clutter of actual productive life. Maybe, by being unencumbered and unclothed both figuratively and literally, you will discover something new about the world that you hadn't noticed until now?
Arrows - walk left and right. You will randomly have epiphanies as you walk.
Hold down the D, R, U and G keys to take the drugs you brought, 'just in case you get bored'.
Uncover the secrets of the Secret Road in the last episode of the Terrifying Drive saga!
The idea for this occurred to me when I was playing with the movement in Breakanoid RC.
A two-player game, with the not unusual goal of putting a ball into your opponent's net.
It reminds me of the soccer mode in Excitebike 64: Controls that, at first, seem cumbersome that with practice allow for satisfying, and fine, control. There are a lot of neat ball control tricks.
(Oh, that gives me an idea, actually: perhaps the ball should be still at the start, and players come out to strike it. The strategy round that moment in ExciteBike 64 was one of my favourite things about that game.)
Edit:
I've made a new version with 2 modes: one where the ball moves on level start, the other where it waits until player contact. It's playable via Newgrounds.
Edit:
This game now has a sick website (well, it's had it for a while): https://blueberrysoft.ryliejamesthomas.net/games/Pololo%20Shodown/
Edit:
Now also on The Internet Archive!
In the war between cranberries and everything else, can anyone truly ever win? Discover the struggle behind the legend. Fight the battles of the war that changed everything.
This is an accurate description of an average life from birth to death. We leave all interpretation to the viewers.
Based on an idea I had while doing something unrelated earlier today.
Arrow keys to move, Z to shoot.
I wanted to make it so my head would only appear on screen while commenting on your performance, and then have a secret boss fight if you shoot me enough, but I'm already 40 minutes over the limit and I haven't even started on that stuff yet. The floating head tracks more stats than you might think, although it only ever comments on your ratio of enemy kills. It compares how well you've done during your current life to how well you've done in the rest of the game so far, basically.
