Not only do I tinker with videogames, but I spend most of my spare time designing tabletop board games.
Later this year I'm leading a workshop where I will be introducing people to Nomic card games: games where you can make it up as you go along, and/or add cards to them while you play. I developed three simple card games to illustrate how to combine different mechanics and game dynamics, as well as to argue that one can make a game about ANYTHING, using nothing more than a blank deck of cards.
If you've a spare moment, please review these rules (about a page and a half each), and share any notes you may have about them. I'm open to any constructive criticism. These games are targeted for the casual market, appropriate for all ages, and designed to be picked up and played in a matter of minutes.
MUSH-RING! http://www.let-off.com/bgames/mushring/mush-ring.pdf Emphasizes draw-and-play, take-that, and set-building mechanics.
NUTS AND GRAINS http://www.let-off.com/bgames/nutsgrains/nutsgrains.pdf Card drafting, open trade and negotiation, graduated scores, and secret agenda.
CROSSING GUARD XL! (XGXL!) http://www.let-off.com/bgames/xgxl/xgxl.pdf Simultaneous bidding and secret agendas.
Thanks for your time, folks!
The Klik of the Month Klub meets right here on this very website on the third Saturday of every month at 4pm Pacific Time (taking daylight savings into consideration) for a two hour Klik & Play Showdown. Everyone who participates gets two hours to create something from scratch in Klik & Play. Abusing the stock objects is encouraged. If you really loathe Klik & Play you can use whatever game development platform you want. Two hours is a pretty tight time limit, though, so choose wisely!
Klik & Play is absolutely free to download, and learning it takes minutes, so everyone can get in on the action.

“Takes me back with you to passionate desert scenes
And it’s there we’ll stay
Till the very day
We find out what Pachalafaka means!”
Pachalafaka (Irving Taylor, 1958)
Pachalafaka is a world, ending in songs. Each song has a different meaning but this world always ends. Entirely drawn by hand, with ink and watercolors, Pachalafaka is a series of game poems, prototypes between comic books and games.
The first episode, “I never thought I would lose”, is based on the song “Stardust”, by Hoagy Carmichael and Mitchell Parish. The game poem was developped for the LA Game Space as part of they launching game mixtape.
Thank you for playing !

A crucial misunderstanding!
Merry Christmas, everyone! As a sort of Christmas present to you all, I'd like to share a Christmas-themed trainwreck with you all. It's yet another variation on You Have to Put the Ball in the Cup, only this time, you have to put a candy cane in a stocking. Very different. Anyway it's a text adventure/interactive fiction game so you'll need an interpreter to play blah blah blah. I think most of you know how these things work by now so I'll spare you the details.
(Also if you are looking for a sincere Christmas game instead of a joke one, I made this thingy a couple years back.)

Hey all, I finally wrote up some stuff about The Intracycle, my big ol' experimental physical game thing that was at Baby Castles. The itch link has a pretty serious description as well as some images (along with a ruleset!) which I encourage you to take a look at if you're interested. I won't bother copy/pasting that description here. Hopefully I will be able to get The Intracycle out into the real world some more soon. Let me know what you think of the idea!
