BH&H is a freeware platformer that both respectfully apes "Out of this World" and revels in the campy dialog of b-movies and summer hollywood blockbusters. The author digitized himself and his friends to make the ingame characters. He couldn't draw backgrounds, so he just drew splotches and applied several photoshop filters to them.
Puzzles mostly involve avoiding vague-but-dangerous things; most hazards are telegraphed ahead of time. The painful/funny cinematics only get funnier as the game progresses, entering (in my opinion) OH SHIT I JUST WANT TO FINISH THIS territory near the end.
BH&H was written for the AGAST engine, which causes some problems on certain systems. AGAST apparantly can't free resources; I had to restart the game a few times to reach the end. Also, it's like a 160 MB download.
Finally, there's an interesting tell-all post-mortem on the author's site. Although not really a trainwreck (the levels are actually very well polished), I thought the slapdash graphics and storyline (and final boss, if you ever reach him) give it a strange "shoestring budget" quality, even though it didn't have a budget.
An ace fighter pilot with twenty-three confirmed victories, Pacian was ejected into our Universe when an apocalyptic Martian bombardment destroyed his own parallel world. Video game therapy intended to acclimatise this inter-dimensional traveller to our society and culture has so far proven at least partially successful.
Relive the glory days of gaming by getting a cartridge to work in your ancient console.
In case you've never experienced this kind of gaming before, here's the idea of the game:
All you need to do is press the power button and hope the screen turns on. Blow on the cartridge to increase the chances of that happening. If it STILL doesn't work, give it a good old wiggle side-to-side while it's in and try again. Make sure you get all the dust off!
Note: I understand that this is the wrong kind of cartridge for a top-loader but I had the SNES in mind even though I drew a NES cart. Anyway the console is just a box with a power button on it!
Traffic is bad! destroy all traffic!!!!
Hold "up" to accelerate, bash into the truck to make it bash other cars! cause chaos! destroy mankind! NONSTOP ACTION!!!! ITSHOP.MID!!!!!!
Including 32-bit version!
You can't get it past the other guy, who'll knock it back to you at a slightly different angle, but instead touching the ball to get more points. It gets progressively faster, too!
Up and Down arrows to control. Note that you can't change the angle of the ball, but your opponent often will.
I've tried to get it so that the ball doesn't go within a certain range of vertical, too, so hopefully that'll work.
Music is a take on Din Da Da that I came up with earlier today on a whim.
second in a series of sonic worlds levels
Malefact was first exposed to trainwrecks when he participated in a pretty rad and quite extensive lucasarts fangames community way back when. His magnum opus, "Space Fandango", was sadly lost to the world following the great computer fustercluckening of 2003.
He forgot, for a time. But upon discovering GLORIOUS TRAINWRECKS his passion for Klik and b-games was rekindled, and here he is today.
The best - and indeed the worst - is surely yet to come.
A small sidescroller in which you Go! and collect some stars! made for Sylvie's informal game jam "The Sylvie Shuffle" where the theme was stars
I got a chance to use the ol' crate lifting tech I made a long time ago. The entirety of the game is crate-based puzzles
there's 20 stars to collect but you need only 15. good luck!!
