we're doing this
we're MAKING THIS HAPPEN
Someone is doing a playthrough because I suggested that they should.
My heart broke a little when neither of qrleon's games ran for him! I wonder why they didn't work?
It has been completely redone. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HsyzRs-cnjo Also includes those two games that are now working
I love the description dialogue and cheesy music. This thing is awesome! Now I need to spend the next several weeks playing all the games.
OH. MY. GOD

That sucks, my server should be serving it up at full speed, and there's lots of other seeders... Do you know which seeds you're connected to? Is it still bad, or did it pick up after a little while?
It picked up right when I was about to go to sleep! At the time I posted that there were only 2 seeders.
this is so awesome, i couldn't have even known
only thing that sucks is the omnipresent insufficient resources popup
What insufficient resources popup? When is it showing up? I never saw that during development.
On the 16-bit games I mean.
There's an option to hide them in the Sort menu, if you're on 64-bit. I see a "16-bit application incompatible" error, rather than a "insufficient resources" error, though, so that's kind of :/
It's totally worth installing XP on VirtualBox, for the "dusty kart" feature alone.
This is the greatest thing that ever happened in the history of things. Whoever made that games collection interface is my hero.
woooo I'm you're herooooooo
(EffBee did most of the themes, and I'm suddenly realizing now that I forgot to credit him in the readme for that important bit :/)
Bad Pirate isn't working.
It works for me, but it is somewhat broken (I get a script error).
Argh I totally discovered that months ago and never wrote it down! I meant to pester dock to fix it :/
The web version works, at least, but I get a funny error when I try to run it directly from the Kart :/
Collect the Umbrellas also refuses to run.
I built a new configuration on the server which fixed that but DIDN'T DOWNLOAD IT TO INCLUDE IT IN THE KART
replace kartconfig.lua in your kart directory with this version and it should run
Ah, thanks. Some crazy stuff, this thing.
It loaded and played the game just fine. The Mac OS version also works too. It's only the standalone Windows version that doesn't work.
This has managed to entertain me for almost 20 minutes so far without me needing to play a game.
First 120-something games played.
Trip report: Ownes.
edit: finally back home now
What's the Dusty kart feature?
In any case, loving this. I need to start finding a way to organize all my favorites because there are so many. Watermelon = fantastic.
The dusty kart feature is in the lower right corner, it improves KNP games tenfold.
But what does it DO?
Plays a random KnP game with the graphics from a different random KnP game.
Basically Rom Check Fail with every game in the Kart.
aw my song didnt make it
this is awesome yay
mediafire link died, sorry :/
OHH YEAAHHH. How is this not in the NY Times? Or the Guardian?
Oh well. DOWNLOOADDDIIIIING
I have played every game, woo.
Now all I need to do is play a single game 529 times, and launch the menu 529 times.
Are you going to write up your thoughts on them?
Was anything broken besides Bad Pirate and Collect The Umbrellas?
Also, congratulations on the Ipanema achievements! Did you have to leave the room or mute your speakers to do it?
it's full of stars
Great to see this finally released! Sorry that I didn't contribute for the non-game stuff.
Pretty damn nifty
Thanks for getting this all together. I've been making my way through the games, and am now looking forward to trying out the dusty cart feature.
It seems to be taking a while for the Kart to be making Internet news. Let's blame dess.
I just finally got around to downloading this yesterday, and it's pretty much the best thing ever. Great job on everything, everyone! Keep on keepin' on!
My mug's on the cover! =/
I'm pestering the other PTT dudes to write something about it, so that might help getting the word out.
That 450 MB download would take a literal year (not literally) up here in Alaska. I have 99% of the games, is there any way we could have seperate downloads for the compiler, mustic, and games? It'd be way awesome for all of us who get 14 kb/sec on a GOOD day. =)
It's possible that in the nebulous future, I'll build a version of the menu that can download and install games on demand. That probably won't happen for a while, though.
Just uploading the menu without the games as it is is probably not worth doing, since it expects a very particular directory layout, and I promise you'd rather wait for the download than build it by hand. It's conceivable that I could write a new script that built it for you given a directory full of zips, but it'd be way less effort for me to just mail you a CD-R with the installer on it :)
I'm in the process of moving out of here, so this shall be an incentive to move to the land of hi-speed internets. Thanks though. =)
You could have it mirrored on Fileplanet (appropriate trainwreck filehost) then order a cd (do they still do that anymore?)
