The Dark Lord Ultradeath has come to this mortal plane to watch a vaudeville show. If the show doesn't go over well, he will end the world. To make matters worse, the music hall is infested with monsters, and most of the performers are missing! As a hired sword, it is your job to clear the monsters, find the performers, and make sure that the show goes smoothly...

I've been fiddling with the text adventure creation system Inform 7 and I decided to make a game for this site. I hope this counts as a trainwreck by your standards, or is at least sufficiently strange or interesting. You can run it with Frotz, downloadable here and also here.

Edit: It should be noted that this was semi-loosely based upon a now-concluded running joke in the comic strip Tom the Dancing Bug (information here, see 'Chaos Butterfly').

Far more than an in-joke, yet so much less than a real game, this may be the first genuine "art game"™ to be developed to be played alongside an EP and both game and EP can be enjoyed together TODAY for -- no money -- ! The levels follow the track listing (with track 8 as a *bonus level*) however the entire long-form EP/ short-form LP has been converted to scintillating MIDI form for his/ her pleasure.
