My game in twine was released to Itch.Twio 19 years ago to Critical Successs and now it comes to Glorioustrainwrecks for everyone to enjoy!
Experience..the mystery of the Name..travel the world in which Your Name is Terrible and the worst on the planets...a thrilling aventure for the century!
So, the working name for my homebrew videogame system for infants is now InfraBaby. If anyone has any better suggestions, I would love to hear them.
Though I can't test it until my IR receiver arrives in the mail, I've built the core of the system. I've got a small Python program that reads data from LIRC, and, based on a configuration object, presses keys in Windows. Obviously I've still got some work to do to discover what codes the V.Smile emits, but I'm hoping that'll end up being relatively straightforward.
Now, if everyone was happy writing python code to configure their games, and starting up three programs whenever they wanted their baby to play a game, I'd be done. But no -- I'm coming to the realization that I've got a frontend to write, which lets you set up configurations for your games, and has one-click (or one-press-the-orange-circle) launching of games. I'm really, really itching to give the program a try, but at least a proper user interface will give me something to do while I wait for the damn sensor to come.
I started this for the October Klik of the Month, but couldn't get it working at the time, even for the Ladies' Auxiliary. The plan was to add K&P-style car controls and some kind of clearing (4x4 blocks?), eventually.

An acquaintance of mine has started the "Bitsywick" game jam events. The first one is in late January 2015. A theme will be determined and announed, and participants have a week to come up with a game and submit it. This is a shorter form event than what he usually runs in August: The Buswick.

Folks around here seem accustomed to games completed in a week or less, so there's likely at least a few of you who want to participate.
I'll see you there! :)
Sorry I haven't been active much on the site, I think over the year I poured most of my Trainwreck mojo into making the 25 toys and games of my annual html5 advent calendar... each is made w/o external graphics, just drawing shapes, and you can see the whole Processing.js source code as one file .
Also each thing is relatively touchscreen friendly... at least for iOS.
This game is best played in full-screen.
Written for Gothic Novel Jam 2018
Charles Blackwood happens upon a deed for the cliff-side manor known as Gethen Manor, a manor owned by a former mistress of his, Katherine Thorndale.
Attached to the deed is a letter from Miss Thorndale, expressing how she wishes they'd not drifted apart, and inviting him to live in the manor.
Suspicious, he ventures off to find the manor in a neglected state, the once well-tended garden now an overgrown mess of dead, dried up grass, long wilted trees and odious plant remains.
As he explores the manor, he uncovers the manor's secrets. Secrets that, for him, would be better off forgotten.
