Breakanoid Ball

Another one of my Breakanoid riffs. This time you are the ball! Steering by tapping the left and right keys, striking the bottom will lose you time.

I will probably do a more considered game with all these experiments when I'm finished.

Beep Boop, what up?

The Klik of the Month Klub meets right HERE on this very website on the third Saturday of every month at 4pm Pacific Time (taking daylight savings into consideration and that I don't actually know how time zones work) for a two hour Klik & Play Showdown. Everyone who participates gets two hours to create something from scratch in Klik & Play, or whatever. Abusing the stock objects is encouraged. Two hours is a pretty tight time limit, though, so choose wisely! ;-)

Klik & Play is absolutely free to download, and learning it takes minutes, so everyone can get in on the action.

In addition, there are tools like Multimedia Fusion 2, RPG Maker, Unity, Game Maker, Twine, ZZT, plingpling, flikgame, and tinychoice.

add your game by clicking 'POST' <-----
hang out in the CHAT or IRL, have fun :-)

Star Wars for the Famicom

... is quite something.

I didn't think old games like this were capable of having cloned player glitch-outs.

Also, might as well post these GIFs while I'm at it:

[I was rumaging around on my old computer and found a couple old Klik and Play games! They probably won't work on modern computers!]

So here's a story: I was at Global Game Jam in 2010, and was assigned to a team that didn't really know what they were doing. As I watched our programmer scratch his head, I was messing around in Klik and Play on my laptop because my art stuff was done. As the members of another group walked by us, one of them caught a glance of my screen and said: "Oh my God, is that *Klik and Play?*"

Dear reader, my new friend and I spent several sleepless, giddy hours that weekend coming up with absurd scenarios to add to this smorgasbord of Warioware-style goodness. The theme of that Global Game Jam was 'deception', and the idea was that there was a deceptive thing in each level. If I remember correctly, we decided against formally submitting it in case this was viewed as disrespectful to the organizers. But it was such a long time ago, I don't exactly remember. Anyway, good times! I remember it much better than the 'real' game we submitted. I think I didn't submit this here at the time because I lost contact with the person I worked with it on, but it's so far in the past it probably doesn't matter now. The moral of the story is that if someone recognizes KNP, they are good people.

Get Ready!

ready1.png

Back when I played through Indigo Prophecy (Fahrenheit) on PS2, my friends and I often joked about the "GET READY!" prompt that appeared before action sequences. Together we imagined a game with dull activities like making breakfast or getting the newspaper overlayed with the "Simon Says" interface, followed by spectacular failure sequences (drowning in the milk, fatal papercut on the newspaper) and the melodramatic voice over saying "This is how my story ends. Officially it was a suicide..."

So of course my immediate reaction to the first demo footage of Heavy Rain was to whip up an overlay game in Flash. I guess the final game didn't really turn out all that different, except with a little more JASON!

Play with fingers on homerow, as if using 2-handed WASD.
That's ESDF for the left hand, and IJKL for the right.

(Finally posting this all these years later because SpindleyQ is making plans for a Youtube FMV Game program. Source code will be available shortly.)

Fucuspunctophobia

Fucuspunctophobia.png

A game about the fear of punching bees. Sorry about the large download. It has lots of audio. And a bit of uncompressed video.

Follow the adventures of Red Boxer as he wins the regional boxing championship!

The last portion of the game is a Klik adaptation of Beyond the Forbidden Forest (except that you can't win).
