Belly Rub Rumble!

s6VeCQ.png

A belly rub simulator!

Many of us have rubbed a cat's belly, it purring in delight, only for it to suddenly turn on us and claw at us! This is a game that replicates that wonderful experience!

Rub the cat's belly up and down, but keep an eye on their face... if they look agitated at all, lift your finger before they pounce! Make sure you don't rub off their belly when they're enjoying themselves, too! It... displeases them.

For the dog lovers, there is also a puppy mode! There is no game over with the puppy, but it may guilt you into replaying if you stop rubbing their belly!

Skeletons in the Closet PLUS

Screen_22.png
Game File:

Find all bottles to move onto next stage. Avoid skeletons.

Use arrows to move, X to jump.

A tribute to CGA IBM compatible games and to jfroco's Skeletons in the Closet, a tribute to Sinclair ZX Spectrum games.

Here is my very late submission to this most excellent idea for a game jam! As Danni said about the original Skeletons in the Closet, "This is neat but it needs way more levels." So I present to you, Skeletons in the Closet PLUS! Whereas the original game had only three levels, this enhanced port gives you TWELVE.

jfroco's game is a tribute to the style of ZX-82 games, which they grew up on. I really liked the game when I played it in the GDC Pirate Kart. Personally, I don't have any particular nostalgia for the Spectrum, but my equivalent would be early Apogee-type shareware platformers . So my little headcanon is that this is the MS-DOS port from the late 1980s that alters the original Spectrum game, moves things around, and expands it a bit. All three original stages are adapted for this version!

(If this game gets too hard, use the secret cheat code for more lives: Hold down L and press Space!)

Stream of Pretentiousness: No sleep between the last 2 updates

Stream of Pretentiousness on itch.io

I'm starting to get antsy with this project. For me it's hard to keep any one creative thing going on a daily basis because my mind bounces around to so many different places (as you might have observed). And I need breaks like anyone else, so I'm planning to take at least a week off after I've completed a month's worth of entries. Maybe that'll be the time to revamp the cover image and other aspects of branding, plus institute private early access to new updates for my Patreon supporters.

Being antsy, I naturally thought "Why don't I just hammer out a bunch of daily twines on one day, and just sit back and release them. That'll buy me a couple days where Stream of Pretentiousness doesn't get in the way of other things."

I decided that was against the spirit of the project. The point is to force myself to use skills like scope control and time management to make daily work on this project sustainable, not to slip into using crunch and major waves of effort, then letting myself burn out.

Still, in the next iteration of this I think it would be healthier to make 5 updates per week, not 7.

Today's entry is probably the sloppiest one so far, because I happened to be awake when the clock passed midnight, and I wanted to get a headstart on my goals for the day. It feels a bit like bending the rules to do 2 of these updates in the same continuous stretch of wakefulness, so I'll try not to do it again.

what a wonderful "game" this is, i am sure it will win many awards at E3, E3 invited me personally to compute the best computer games in the world and to throw them in people's faces in large amounts like a silly egotistical bastard and the underwear pageants are going on and people are singing and stabbing each other in the throats every day and the useless pigeons peck away at themselves while wearing panties and playing contrabass like Ron Carter and giovanni bottesini and michael brough was there adminstering whales for the international whale distributor, thomas bowen and i waited while preparing elaborate pointless attention-getting stunts to secure my nomination as the presidential candidate for the Anus party of 2016 and i will be presentdent of bolivia thank you verys much

by the way, the checkmark "button" doesn't do anything

Super Juni Breakout

super_juni_breakout_preview.jpg

A rather fancy waste of time by yours truly. Help Juni escape the game loop by hitting all bricks in the correct order, or just bounce around pointlessly until the KS engine explodes in a raging fire due to memory leaks. The choice is yours! There's also a rather tricky and somewhat-hard-to-find secret ending, complete with bonus art.

PLEASE NOTE: Make sure you play this level in the original Knytt Stories v1.2.1. Mods (KS+, KS Ex...) are NOT recommended, since most of them slow down shifts quite a bit.
