Hillbilly Bongo School. It's pretty self explanatory, if that's even possible.

Writeup later, I should be getting ready for work.

Pest Control 360°

PestControl360.png

A followup to my Batari Basic game Pest Control in Space. This time there's more bees, and the action is in 360 degrees! (Oops I rhymed)

Move the mouse left and right to move your ship along the perimeter. Hold the mouse button to fire. Destroy the hive and any remaining bees to progress to the next level. Hitting a bee with your ship will kill you. As you progress, the hive becomes larger, the bees spawn more frequently, and they descend more rapidly!

Important:
Press C to insert a credit, and S to start the game.

Also, if you stay on the title you can watch a little demonstration.

Update: Made a couple fixes. Redownload if you've already downloaded.

Mr. Petes is the glue that holds this building together.

promoMrPetesMuseum.png

Mr. Petes is the glue that holds this building together.
-a museum game where you can walk through the process of making an artgame few have played.

Use wasd and mouse to move and look around.
The game can be exited by jumping off the world or by pressing alt+f4

The original game, "Mr Petes is lost! (for hugs)" can be downloaded for play on Glorious Trainwrecks.

I decided to use this as my Introduce Yourself game because the other one I started needs a lot more love first and this felt pretty relevant to me being here on this site specifically. I'll probably upload the other game too when I finish it.

Spin Spinner 101: Deuteroscopy Edition – X2 Evolved (cheap knockoff)

screenshot01.jpg

A fangame for tininsteelian's Spin Spinner series. I've recently played all of these again. I really like them. They seem so very GT, I'm surprised that they didn't get commented on at the time. It seemed a bit pointless to comment on such old games at this point so I thought I'd make something inspired by them instead. So this is in part a plea for people to have another look at these things.

Like a lot of things I make, this was a weaving together of various strands of thought going on at the moment. An interest in broken game physics. Use of randomness in making design decisions. A fascination with knockoffs or cheap clones especially related to things like tamagotchi.

A quick note about 'deuteroscopy' in the title. It was spat out at me by an online random word generator I was using; I'd never come across it before. One of the meanings of 'deuteroscopy' is "that which is seen upon a second view". So it's partly about what you might see if you look at these games a second time and also about the fact that when I first 'played' them I didn't realise they were interactive. 'Deuteroscopy' also means 'second sight' in the sense of clairvoyance - the two images in my game relate to this sense.

That's a lot of words about not much of a game. Sorry to waffle on but - even more than usual - I felt I had to justify this one to avoid seeming completely bonkers.

@ timinsteelian if you're not happy about this in any way then I'll take it down. It is meant as a thankyou for the fun and inspiration I've had from playing your games. If all is well then I may even consider looking at who else might be getting a fangame ... hmm. Or a jam maybe?

Vertical Impulse

vertimpulse.png

This is based on an unreleased game of mine which I never finished, which itself was based on the old Macintosh shareware game Diamonds. There's also some inspiration from Messhof's Punishment: The Punishing and VVVVVV.

Guide this constantly bouncing Pong-like ball out of this dungeon-like environment. Break through the orange blocks (above the start) and blue blocks (below the start) and avoid the purple objects. You must be the same colour as the block to break it.

This thing is kind of dry and could probably do with a more interesting design, but w/e.

Left, right: Move.
Up, down: Speed up or slow down, depending on your current velocity.

EDIT: Endless respawn bug and some sticky wall bugs fixed.

Drug-Induced Emo Fun Times

Screenie.jpg

A game where you play as Steve the sad emo kid who just lost his boyfriend Adam and the tennis tournament in the same day! Attempt to get out of bed and turn on the lights while being under the influence of an ecstasy-like drug that your neighbor Buchelle slipped into your water. If you can find your way back to the Milky Way Galaxy, you win!
