Enjoy everyone.. Posted in the right event as it is a name generator title, I just added Dr. Awesome to it. More info in the link provided. Enjoy, share, I made it for everyone with everyone in mind. Welcome to my world. I hope this game that I spent the past month parsing gives you a nice tour.. If you don't like what you can see you can press BACK on your browsers or even = to skip frames.. just make sure you've clicked on the flash object or else at least in opera it increases the font/stuff size. and if you like something backspace, yes, no yes I've explained the rest at that link so enjoy!
Update! I received a couple let's plays, initially I requested the first but both came as a surprise.
Let's play by goldenhog with his consistent collaborator CAPTAINSTEWPID. This showcases the game better than I could have dreamed of and I give gratitude for that.
And another Let's play by IndieArtArchive I appreciate second handedly collaborating with you as well.
Thank you. I won't give the spoilers out.. The second reviewer got the Richard Jacques and TJ Davis track to stop by clicking it out of its sound channel. This can be fixed by backspacing to the first frame. I debated whether to make the sound non-interruptible, or make it breakable as an easter egg. I'll leave it bugged as a lesson for other trainwreck developers. Both groups are experienced LPers and I endorse their work, and other arts.
Your name is Seaborg and you have inherited a manor. However, you become trapped in the manor. Can you escape?
The music is "Ricardo Villalobos - Frank Mueller Melodram"
Sometimes bitsy games can be kind of frustrating so here's a short guide:
-Go straight left from the starting point in the manor
-Go in the kitchen and go down to the wine cellar to get the Eyeball of Communion
-Go back up through the kitchen to the King's Suite. Talk to the king and get his letter
-Go back to the gate and up the stairs on the right to get to the pool
-Go in the architect's bag and use the glasses to solve the maze and get the code
-Go up the west stairs to the archive room, get the directions using the code
-Go all the way to the right, past the courtyard
-Go to the cemetery to the right and inspect the large grave. Follow the instructions on it to get 1 ending, disregard them to get the other
-Go in the tower, up the stairs, and fall into the dungeon
-Follow the directions from the archive. In the last room, a shadow is there. He tell you the final direction. Go out of the dungeon
-Talk to the queen. Then, take her letter and fall off the tower to the left
-Retrace your steps and talk to the king again. He gives you the key to the manor. Inspect the lock to the left of the main gate to escape the manor
-Go to the bank in the bottom right of town. Based on your decision regarding the grave, talking to the teller will result in 1 of 2 different endings.
my first flick game
Inspired by the (much superior) Castle/ZZT by HM with its shortness and sweetness. Back in my ZZT days, I never did much with the pre-programmed objects, doors, and such, so I wanted to see if I could make a short, tight game that mostly relied on using ZZT objects the way Sweeney intended.
I forgot how long it takes to make ZZT games.
A while ago I gave the last bastions of the old free web hosts a search for old non-self-conscious KnP games. I went with the big three: Tripod, Angelfire, and Geocities. It was a very exciting expedition! I even ran across mojofltr's old stomping grounds! [Link removed pending approval]
I'll be posting a find from my free-host safari every Monday night. Some of them will be fun classics I've been trying to track down for a while. Some will be just really odd stuff that I honestly didn't expect to ever see. They'll mostly be trainwrecks.
First up is QuakeMaker by KZero! This was a clever little maze game that made me very interested in faking scrolling in KnP years ago. The game is played in a very, very tiny little window. What fascinates me about this game is that the gameplay is most likely a result of bugs in his original idea for his scrolling system. You have to retrieve blocks from a maze, but if you collide with the wall, you cause an "earthquake" which makes all the blocks in the level shift towards you. My guess is that the shifting blocks were originally a bug from the way he moved objects around to scroll them. But it became part of his gameplay instead of being "solved". The idea of game design resulting from limitations in an environment was a strong message in "Racing the Beam", a book a few people here have probably read. Just like the Atari VCS programmers came up with games that played to the strengths of scan-line-graphics, many classic KnP games played to the strengths of the fiddly nature of KnP collision detection.
Next Week: A game starring a very famous game character in his most exciting adventure with KnP clipart ever!
run start.bat to play
this game is made to reference the latest koi puncher game that just came out and that I have not played.
this is that game https://jdmgames.itch.io/koi-puncher-mmxviii
i am not associated with whatnot games
any statements I may or may not make do not reflect on the whatnot games brand.
usage of elements resembling those in koi puncher falls under fair use
yeargh sound belongs rightfully to clickteam
bubblz sound belongs rightfully to someone, probably
probably the images belong to people too
it's all fair use i swear
what does fair use mean?
Same as (Blind) but with death
This game has nothing to do with jazz. Rather, it was inspired by the old "JezzBall" and "Maxwell's Maniac" games from the Microsoft Entertainment Pack.
Guide the bouncing ball so it rolls over all the coins. Once all the coins have been collected, the exit opens up. Bring the ball to the exit to progress to the next level.
You can drag the blue squares with the mouse. They are useful for guiding the ball toward or away from different areas. You can even use them to completely block off certain areas. Brown squares disappear when the ball hits them. Don't let the ball hit the spikes.
