1hgj - Decisions

secondch.png

DECISIONS, originally made for the One Hour Game Jam. The theme was Second Chance.

Imagine if you were just released from prison. What would you do next? Click your left mouse button on the choice you select.

PLEASE NOTE: there have been reports that this doesn't work as intended with the Chrome browser. However I've tested it on two different machines using Firefox, and have had no issues. Please switch browsers if at any time it seems like the game "hangs" on a screen with no more choices.

Music is "Tell Tale" by DST, found on the gamesounds.xyz website. Minimal SFX made by me in BFXR. All event coding by me in Clickteam Fusion.

Game is now version 1.1, providing a bit more feedback and some more interesting (forced) choices.

Enjoy!

(PS: I made this game one-armed... I had surgery on a shoulder just a few days ago and it's still in a sling. Typing takes a surprisingly long time.)

1hgj - Nobody Likes You

dz-clown.png

NOBODY LIKES YOU, a game originally made for the One Hour Game Jam. The theme was Danger Zone.

You are a clown, trying to make a living. Collect the coins as they appear, but avoid the flags and the atoms they launch at you. To stay safe, you can hide in your Base at the center. Now updated to version 1.1, with an improved interface, background music, and a true Escape from New York vibe. This is one badass clown.

Enjoy!

1hgj - Scanner Kitty

scanner.png

SCANNER KITTY, a game made for the One Hour Game Jam. This time, the theme was One Control.

Press the SPACEBAR to mind-blast the mice before they steal all your cheese. It takes mind power to do so, but your energy constantly replenishes.

Only had an hour to do this, but still I'm most pleased with the sprites I came up with in that time.

Built in Clickteam Fusion.
SFX made in BFXR.
Background music by DST/Diseased Superior Technician and downloaded from the gamesounds.xyz website.

Enjoy!

1hgj - Shmlashing Shplanets

shmlanets.png

SHMLASHING SHPLANETS, a game made for the One Hour Game Jam. The theme was Combine two incompatible game genres. Well, this is a combination, all right.

The goal is to smash all the planets. When you control one, collide it with a matching colour, and one of them is smashed. If you smash all of them, you earn a score bonus.

CONTROLS:
ARROW KEYS: Move your ship or an activated planet
Z KEY: Cycle the different colours of projectile. The edge of the screen will show your current colour.
X KEY: Shoot a bullet.

Enjoy! A friend of mine described it as, "You know, it's like that one Star Trek: TNG episode where they were fighting the Borg, and to make it past their shields they had to keep shifting the frequency of the phasers." Never saw much Star Trek, but I know enough about it and this game to pretty much agree with what he said.

Enjoy!

1hgj - Falling

1hgj-fall.png

FALLING, a game made for the One Hour Game Jam. The theme this time was Fall.

Use your ARROW KEYS or gamepad to move around. Collect the gems and land your skydiver on the target. If you don't land on the target, you explode. If you do land on the target (and this should be abundantly clear, now that I've had a little time to fix a couple things), you double your current score.

Try to beat your high score. ENJOY!

1hgj - Turbo Grid

walls.png

TURBO GRID, a game made in one hour for the One Hour Game Jam. The theme for this one was Walls.

Use the arrow keys to move your space ship. Collect the Green Grids and the Globes to earn points. Avoid the moving WALLS. Things can start moving pretty fast if you have quick fingers. :)

Features sound effects made with BFXR, and background music from the playonloop.com website.

UPDATE: Game is now v1.1 and features a David Lynch-inspired title screen 'cause I wanted to give that a try.

ENJOY!

Personal Space Invaders

pspaceinv.png

PERSONAL SPACE INVADERS, an advergame for the Glorious Trainwrecks x Babycastles exhibition.

Move left and right with the ARROW KEYS. Shoot dynamite at the enemies with the Z KEY. Win by blowing them all up, and a special message will be revealed (three guesses as to what it is...). Features the gripping "Burundian Adventure" soundtrack.

Hope this is useful for the exhibition. Enjoy!

1hgj - Simple Lockpicker

lockpicker.png

SIMPLE LOCKPICKER, for the One Hour Game Jam. The theme this time was Theft.

I tried to recreate the lockpicking mechanism from what I remembered of the old-skool NES game AD&D: Hillsfar. Use your mouse to move your lockpick back and forth to touch the tumblers. Raise and lower tension in the lock with the Z and X keys. When all tumblers say OK, you've opened the lock.

I overreached with this one... But it's a good start for something done in an hour.

1hgj - Diablow

diablow.png

DIABLOW, originally made in one hour for One Hour Game Jam... Now updated with more levels, more tactics, more loot!

UPDATE: You can play an earlier version in your browser at the following link (but it has a LOT less going for it than the standalone build): http://www.let-off.com/software/1hgj/roguelike/index.html

Use the arrow keys to guide your explorer through the goblin cave and haunted tomb. Find the exit (and some sweet, sweet loot) before you starve to death. Each stage is randomly-assorted, but has the same elements (loot, enemies, dungeon walls and obstacles). Some food is generated the second time you enter, as well as every time after that, so you don't immediately starve. But don't dilly-dally! There are mean goblins, angry ghosts, the floating skull, and the goblin chieftan all ready to pummel you to bits!

Background music from the playonloop.com website. Sound FX from BFXR. All other stuff by me in Clickteam Fusion.

ENJOY!
