A Half Decent Shooter? *GASP!*

Oh,hey! I made a GOOD game for once.
Ok,it's not SUPER great,but it's a real game rather than a stupid joke game.

Controls are the same as most of my games. Z is to attack,arrow keys to move,etc.
This game has powerups,3 to be exact. The first one is a 3-way shot,the second one is a bomb (You get how that works),and there's a bubble shield that takes 3 hits before it goes away.

Space Surfers

Introduction:

Space Surfers is a side-scroller where you control a Space soldier, equipped with a flying surfboard and should survive as long as possible in the middle of the enemy territory, accumulating the most possible of points. something like a mix of River Raid (Atari) and Contra (NES).

In addition to the standard weapon (with infinite ammo), there's more two temporary items that can be found in the scenario. The player loses when he lost the five initial lives (without the possibility of getting more lives during the game). The highest score achieved in the game is stored in the main menu.

Controls:

*Left mouse button - Use the selected item
*Right mouse button - Controls the character
*Middle mouse button - Pause game
*Scroll mouse - Change item

Grenade Pong

DISCLAIMER: This took four hours to make, which is inexcusable. The only consolation in this is that it's a much higher quality game than I normally turn in.

My original idea was to make some kind of EXTREME TENNIS game where the ball was a grenade and the players were carrying machine guns, but because I couldn't be bothered to put in a net or introduce bounce physics and stuff I ended up making GRENADE PONG instead.

Each player is equipped with a gun and a forcefield. Like Pong, the aim of the game is to bat the grenade off the opposite side of the screen. Unlike pong, you can only deflect the ball when your forcefield is activated, and your forcefield only stays active for about 1/3rd of a second each time you use it (and takes just over 1 second to recharge). If you touch the bomb while your forcefield is inactive, you lose instantly.

But wait - there's more! You can't move and fire. Your characters will automatically aim towards each other, but while you hold down the Fire key you will be able to adjust your aim by pressing your move up/move down keys. Bullets will not kill you, but will hinder your movement around the court - your forcefield will not protect you from this! Bullets do not affect the bomb in any way.

CONTROLS:

Player 1: WASD to move, G to shoot, Y to use forcefield

Player 2: Arrow keys to move, Page Down to shoot, Page Up to use forcefield

You only play one round at a time and the game will automatically return to the title screen after each round.

Windows only; made in Game Maker 7; .zip includes GM7 file.

All I got done is a one-screen prototype. The final thing would involve a multi-screen base that you disable, then enter inside.

There are three shot sizes. When shots of the same size collide they create a bigger shot.

Space Harriet

Based on an idea I had while doing something unrelated earlier today.

Arrow keys to move, Z to shoot.

I wanted to make it so my head would only appear on screen while commenting on your performance, and then have a secret boss fight if you shoot me enough, but I'm already 40 minutes over the limit and I haven't even started on that stuff yet. The floating head tracks more stats than you might think, although it only ever comments on your ratio of enemy kills. It compares how well you've done during your current life to how well you've done in the rest of the game so far, basically.
