Death Scorpions From Hell II

DeathScorpionsFromHellII.png

We here at Makai Sasori wish to let you know the sequel to our previous game Death Scorpions From Hell actually works. The members of the team that let the buggy version of our previous game be released have been dealt with by our resident ninja squad. Those that survived impalement and incineration by our greatest ninja member have been transformed into puppets of death by our other ninja member.

Arrows/joystick = movement
Button 1 = shoot laser vision

Destroy as many Death Scorpions From Hell as you can before you die.

"Clickteam Extractor", by ValleyBell

Stumbled across this old forum post from 2011 where someone named "ValleyBell" posted a tool called "ClickTeam Extractor" for extracting resources from ClickTeam games that seems much more advanced than my KNPUtils. Includes source code and file format documentation! Given that it's hosted as a MediaFire link from 2011 it's a miracle that it's still online, so I'm mirroring it here.

Tri Soup Shmup - Pirate Kart Edition

triSoupShmup2_FB.png

An abstract shmup i originally made for a LD48 , but added 24h more into it and overhauled a bunch of gameplay. Most of the time was spent on working out the gameplay and pacing.

Eventually a single hit from an evil red triangle will kill you (they do more damage the longer the game plays), so stockpiling energy early on and good timing of 'Time Slow' and 'Teleport' will keep you alive longer as well as boost the score multiplier.

Instructions are onscreen.
Love it? Hate it? Help me make it better and tell me about what you like and dont like about it.

Type The Same Word Over And Over

TypeShot.jpg
Game File (Mac):

This is a game where you type the same word over and over again as fast as you can. Like this:

typetypetypetypetypetypetypeytpeytypetypetyeptyeptyeptyettyeptyetpyttypetyeptyeptyeptyytytpeyttypetyeptypetypeytypetypetypetypetypetypetypetypetypetypetypetypetypetypetypetypetypetypetypetypetypetypetypetypetypetypetypetypetypetypetypetypetypetypetypetypetypety

see? it's hard.

This started out as a cyber-punk hacking game that I was working on a while ago but which never really got anywhere. So I found it on my computer today and made it into this. Anyway, that's why it looks all computer-y.

I don't know if the mac version works, I haven't been able to test it yet.
edit: it didn't but now.. it does!

Catsup's Collectible Creature Card Combat

cooler_heads_prevail_49.png

A collection of 20 cards for a trading card game that can't actually be played, except in your mind. Inspired by cards like "Imakuni?'s Doduo" from Pokemon TCG and "Shahrazad" from Magic: The Gathering and "Matching Outfits" from Yu-Gi-Oh.

All of the cards were drawn in Microsoft Paint with minor touch ups on a few done with GraphicsGale (mainly the bricks in "Fortify!", because I would still be trying to straighten them perfectly if I was solely using Paint).

Card 8 (Sephalophora) contains a reference to death and card 12 (I Had the Gazing Ball Nightmare Again) has a depiction of torture, be warned if those aren't your thing!

Lads, that's me again after one half year since i've popped out again.

Hasn't been a while, isn't it? Guess not, because my last blog post didn't even get a comment, that shows i'm likely fading from previous popularity.
Well, you know, regarding the plans for a possible Mr. Cat visual novel game, is that i've decided to make a transition to the Twine engine. It won't be made as a visual novel because it seems now an odd idea for making a visual novel that is not a dating sim with pigeons like Hatoful Boyfriend, the story is going to be darker and a sort of a 80s adventure game reminiscent of Shadowgate, but it's not even going to be a "real" text adventure because i totally suck at making text inputting games. It really makes you forget about the terms used to move onwards, so it will be a hypertextual adventure!

The game i'm going to do at some time still won't be Mr. Cat IV, it's going to focus on a extended universe of the Mr. Cat franchise with many new characters and possibly there might be less funny stuff because i've started writing the plot and it's already going gritty. It will focus on Sergeant Duck, the main character of the spin-off, with a very sad backstory. The rest won't be revealed because there's 99% chances it's story is told in lots and lots and lots of words than the other Mr. Cat entries, of course, it's not going to be made in Clickteam Fusion, because that engine only left many words that isn't lots like this one!

On my Mr. Cat GameJolt page (http://gamejolt.com/games/the-mr-cat-trilogy/136212) i wrote a more serious version of this blog which might explain in a different way, maybe i'd suggest that you'd read this http://gamejolt.com/games/the-mr-cat-trilogy/136212/devlog/presumable-announcement-another-spin-off-is-in-the-initial-works-3w2wuxvp after you read this blog post. Just a suggestion, because i never felt better to copy the text from that article.
